Saw it is on Netflix now and just finished watching it. What an all time classic movie.

Navin R. Johnson: Huh? I am *not* a bum. I'm a jerk. I once had wealth, power, and the love of a beautiful woman. Now I only have two things: my friends, and... uh... my thermos. Huh? My story? Okay. It was never easy for me. I was born a poor black child. I remember the days, sittin' on the porch with my family, singin' and dancin' down in Mississippi...

Sniper: EVERYDAY RANDOM SON OF A BITCH! TAKE THAT YOU RUN OF THE MILL BASTARD! DIE GAS PUMPER!

Mother: Navin, it's your birthday, and it's time you knew. You're not our natural-born child.
Navin R. Johnson: I'm not? You mean I'm gonna STAY this color?

This scene gets me everytime too.

“The Jerk” is a comedy classic!

I am surprised Netflix would show it given that a large part of the humor derived from what is now considered sensitive subject matter.

Glad to see it easily available again??

“ Ah, anything in this general area right in here. Anything below the stereo and on this side of the Bicentennial glasses. Anything between the ashtrays and the thimbles. Anything in this three inches. Right in here, this area, that includes the Chiclets but not the erasers.”

The new phone book’s here, the new phone book is here! Johnson, Navin R. I’m somebody now!”

The Jerk is in my top 7 comedies of all time. It’s hilarious and tremendously quotable.

One of my top 5 70s comedies.

Steve was great, I like a lot of his films.

Eta

Had you replaced Gene Wilder with Steve Martin in some of his films, I feel like Steve would've donengreat with those roles too.

Blazing saddles
Stir Crazy
See no evil, hear no evil

Not Willy Wonka though.

Etc
