I finished it last night.

WOW.

This might be one of my favorite seasons of anything, ever. They did a wonderful of building a sense of dread and terror throughout the series, rather than relying on cheap scares. The ending was magnificent and pairing it with Gregory Alan Isakov’s “If I go, I’m going” made my eyes water a little. I know that some people have talked about due to the success of season 1, maybe doing a season 2; I think that would be a mistake. This was supposed to be a limited run and they fricking nailed it. Running a 2nd season would be really hard to replicate season 1 and that would kind of diminish the series, in my opinion. Let it go down as just an amazing mini-series.

The terror rather than horror style is great, but like I said in my other post on previous page, the way this show uses the time in a non-linear fashion is incredible. Even if you take out the horror, the show would still be an incredible story of a broken family haunted by a broken past. It's a southern gothic novel in show form, reminds me of the sound and the fury by faulkner. No author more brilliantly used time as a literary tool, and no show more brilliantly uses times as a cinematic tool.

I’m about to start the last episode. I’ve been trying to make it last. I’ll be so sad when it’s over.

Yep. I’m so sad it’s over.

Possibly the best example of time jumping in a movie of all time.

This show was outstanding. Definitely starts off very slow and all the women being brunettes and looking a good bit alike was confusing. But man it got better as it went on. I didn't like the final episode though and felt like it left too many unanswered questions. But overall, probably the best single season of any Netflix show.

Just finished watching - I was blown away.

Great series. I don't think I've ever been scared and had my eyes water in one episode like this show made me do.

You worked hard to slip that brag about your theater room into the conversation.

Was anyone else surprised when they revealed that the imaginary friend wasn't in fact imaginary. That blew me away.

Watched the first 2 episodes last night. Love it so far. We finished the first episode at 11:15 last night and my, who hates scary movies said, "we have to watch another one. I know we'll both be tired as shite tomorrow but I need to know what happens". I suspect we'll finish it up this week.

At the end of Ep 1, when he runs into his sons room to get him out of the house, and they run out, and behind him you can see the wife going crazy running after them....I got chills.

that part was incredibly well done, you can only see her through the crack in the door, creepy as shite.

Is this the best NETFLIX production all time?

She had to have sneaked into the house, right? I don't see Luke's dad letting some random girl stay the night.
