It wasn't a bad movie by any means but I still left disappointed. Godzilla was barely in the movie. The 2 monsters got more screen time than him. I get wanting to create suspense and prolong the introduction but once he is revealed, reveal him. Enough with the dark and cloudy scenes. Planet of the Apes took 30 minutes to show the apes but once they were shown, they didn't do camera tricks so you would get mere glimpse of them.

Also, I don't know if there was a projector problem with my theater but the whole movie seemed dark and out of focus. I felt like I was watching the movie with sunglasses on. They wasted Cranston too.

With the way Godzilla is set up, I could see him teaming up with Mothra vs King Ghidora

That's how Godzilla movies go

I'm betting the sequel will show a lot more

Yea I could see that, it'd be awesome if they had Rodan in it too. I'd like to see movies mechagodzilla and Gigan as the villain too.

A Destroy All Monster type movie could knock out all my requests at once

Cranston's wigs took me out of the movie.

All of that money on special effects, and he looked like he was wearing a joke toupee.

The Olsen twin's sister didn't add anything to the movie. She is normally a good actress but all they had her do is look sad and run. I hated how she continuously looked back 5 times when she was running instead of just running. Also, what a coincidence that the monsters follow Kick-arse to Japan, Hawaii, and SF.

Wanatanbe should have been the Shredder in the new Turtles flick. I also can't stand movies with shakey-cam. I know they want to "put you into the movie" but I rather great cinematography that doesn't give me a head-ache.

Watched it today and thought it was great. The second one they make will have a lot more action since they do not need to set up anything. Godzilla is a BAMF.

BS Cranston was great, the line about having the right to know about why his wife died while he's locked in that interrogation room gave me goosebumps

I didn't say he wasn't great just that he was essentially a glorified cameo. I like Kick-arse but this film needed a heavy like Cranston to carry the film.

I thought Watanabe and Stathairn were great, Cranstons son was ok.... Elizabeth Olson is getting some grief but nobody could have done anything else with the lines and scenes she was given

They should have just left the wife/kid storyline out. They could have at least had a scene where Kick-arse fears his wife is dead and tells his son he knows what it is like to grow up without a mom but he promises to be there for him unlike his father.

Just got back from it. Very good film, but I didn't really care for the wife/kid storyline. I nearly went erect went I saw that atomic breath.

My one quibble with this movie is that it was way to easy for people to find each other in the aftermath of an event. Brody with the random kid finds the parents immediately and Brody with his kid immediately find his wife. I got separated from my group at an LSU game and it took us hours to find one another

To be fair, they were in designated lost and found areas for people both times

I thought he said "Gojira," which happens to be his original name.

Godzilla 2014 was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Absolutely horrible. I don't think I've ever seen such a good trailer and such a bad movie.

The best part was them jumping out of an airplane with the red smoke. Who decided it was a good idea to kill the best actor in the movie 40 mins in? The plot holes were too numerous to list.

I'm so sad. I had such hopes. This had such potential. The 98 ones was better.
