had a tape of that and Karate Kid that someone taped off of HBO
I liked it as a kid but didn't really "get it"
Looking back, I really enjoy the humor, especially of the voice over explaining civilization at the beginning.
and it's interesting to see urban apartheid SA in film as well

Watched this a ton of times as a kid in the mid 80s. Lol thanks for reminding me.
This also reminds me of another movie I watched as a little kid, The Trip to Bountiful. I was subjected to that may times for some reason. Most boring movie I can remember.

I’ve watched it quite a few times. Hilarious in a very smart way. It looks so cheesy that it catches you off guard with its level of humor. When the lady hits the other lady with the coke bottle- man.

My mom showed it to me when I was young. Haven't watched it in years. Read about the star of the movie. It's a pretty interesting story. He was a legitimate bushman who at the time of filming had no real concept of money or modern life and was only paid $300. He later was able to get a good salary for the sequel though.
