The Godfather returning to AMC theaters tomorrow

Looks like it will be in theaters from the 24th until the 2nd. It's the 50th anniversary ultra hd remaster. Here's a link about it for those interested.

They are going to show 1 and 2 at a Cinepolis I go to. Part 2 starts playing around Fat Tuesday. I plan on going back to back nights.

One of these days im gonna follow thru on The Godfather screening ive been planning for years.. What you do is, you get together a few friends and family, preferably ones who love The Godfather flicks, or maybe haven’t seen them but want to.. You tell them to come over and plan to spend about 7 or 8 hours of the afternoon/evening. .. First, you put on The Godfather and watch the whole thing.. THEN you break and all enjoy a huge Italian feast, can be homemade or takeout form a great Italian restaurant .. THEN, with ur bellies full, you watch The Godfather 2.. would be totally epic and immersive .

By "Godfather films" we all assume you mean 1 and 2.
As to comparing them to Goodfellas...I can't pull that trigger. Goodfellas is more part of "our generation." Basically Gen X. The Godfather was a Boomer movie.
I'm uncomfortable comparing the two, I think they're all alpha tier. But in a desert island situation I'd probably take Goodfellas.
Still, I would love to watch 1 and 2 in the theater as I was but a newborn at their release.
