And a quick note that next Monday is the season finale.
• Does the Russel's ball blow up in their faces?
• Does the shifty lawyer blow his cover?
• Do cousin Oscar & his blow buddy kill one another?

I like how Bannister low key told Church he knew who ratted him out without exactly telling him he knew.

I gotta tell ya . . . George Russell is a bad arse.

Carrie Coon is hot as a chick from the late 1800's. Her bitchy attitude just makes her even hotter.

Sure is. The way he told the lady she would only be scrubbing floors at the end...ruthless.

That scene w Bertha being shunted out through the kitchen of the Astor’s house was one of the best scenes of show - she was humiliated one thousand fold. The plucked chickens, the gutted fish, dusty carpets - the actress played that all
so well!
so well!

Bumping as a reminder for tonight's season finale.

Is it really? Feels like it is just getting started drama wise.

I wonder if the writers want us to actually like him because he sure is likable to me. He's the most likable person in the show as far as I'm concerned. He's a loving husband and father, keeps his eye on what actually matters to his family while his wife sometimes goes off on tangents that don't matter, and only is ruthless when he has every reason/right to be.

I think so. Fellowes has always favored outsiders coming in that are good at their core. Which I think Mr. Russell is. I’m glad they didn’t end up having him screw around with Mrs. Turner. That would’ve pissed me off.

Went quite well. Interesting to see how her and Mrs. Aster proceed going forward.

That fricker. Called that shite. Little dick social climber. Hope he gets ruined at some point.

No, but I have a feeling Mr. Adams will find a way to screw up Oscar pursuing Gladys.
Also, definitely some foreshadowing for Marian and the Russell kid. They really would make a nice couple.

I really thought the lawyer had some grand scheme, but he just turned out to be a limp dildo.

Did this get renewed for S2? I didn't think I would like this show but I ended up really enjoying it.
The French chef being from Wichita and him still doing the accent was funny stuff.
Mr. Russell is a great character.

It's so over the top--for example, every conversation Nathan Lane is having.

It reminds me of when Bobby Hill went to New Orleans.

I'm thinking that it's an affectation that he's pushing to amp up his persona with New York society. After finding out about the chef from Kansas, I'm wondering how many other "imposters" are in the mix.
Either way, his Col. Sanders character is entertaining to us.

Yes it got renewed. They are going to start filming Season 2 in May.

I love the series but it probably won't make it past season 2 unless the demographics change. It's popular but among 55+.

The actual person he’s playing really was like that IRL from my understanding of what I’ve read. Super over exaggerated.
