Holy shite that movie was intense...ending blew my mind. I've never heard anyone talk about it (and don't visit this board much), so it was truly a surprise.

Wow.

Michael Douglas could play the rich prick role with precision accuracy, couldn't he?

Great movie, btw.

In every thread for The Game, I always say the same thing...

I unapologetically love this movie, and I don't care how implausible the ending is.

Great movie - one of my top 20 of all time. It didn't get great reviews, which is surprising.

I had the same reaction you did when I saw it in the theaters. I never understood why this movie wasn't more popular. Unfortunately, it's hard to watch again because you know what's going on but that first time was incredible.

I've always loved this movie. I think I saw it twice in theatres when I was in high school. Probably my favorite role for Douglas, he is really good in it.

David Fincher has made some really good movies.

Solid movie.

For me it's sort of like Usual Suspects. Once you know the ending you can rewatch it once or twice but that's it.

I love the scene when he goes in his house and there is the graffiti everywhere and the music is blaring

Damn. That's like just now getting around to watching Heat. Awesome movie, super tense .. I like it a lot. Michael Douglas plays that role great and the writing and direction are both really sharp.

Awesome movie.

And I always argue that the ending isn't implausible at all really. If you reflect on it as them being in control of "the game" the whole time, then they set everything up for him to fall where he did (obviously).

As long as he doesn't shoot his brother in the face, all is well.

Incredible movie. I love this movie, and i can rewatch it many times. However, i always uncover plot holes.

SPOILER

The biggest for me, is the ending, like many have said. What if he would have jumped off another ledge of the building?
As he's falling through the glass you see structural steel beams that is supporting the glass roof. What if he hit one of the beams?
He basically had the narrowest spot in the building below to fall off and land and he hit it.
If he would have ran and jumped off = dead
If he would have landed head first in the blow up mat = dead
If he would have jumped 1 foot to the left or right = dead

If you can believe they have total control of "The Game" then its not hard to believe the ending. I mean his arse ended up in Mexico with no ID buried in some coffin??? and he got back to the States. Its been awhile since i have seen it though.

That was kinda the point though...they basically controlled everything, even where he jumped off. And what looked like structural beams could've been fake to allow him some leeway in where/how he jumped.

Don't get me wrong, it takes some serious suspension of belief, but that's how I've always looked at it, and doing that has led me to enjoy the movie instead of letting those things bother me.
