So it appears Caitlin will end up being the key to breaking the Barry/Savitar loop.
The team got to Frost slightly as was evident with her eyes changing color in the elevator. Caitlin is still in there fighting to get out. Savitar has no idea this happened so he/Barry had amnesia at the time.

Yeah but I think the point was to make known that there is a period of time that Savitar has no memory of what took place.
He doesn't know that Caitlin/Frost is having second thoughts so as far as Savitar knows is that he has her full support.

I like how they just explained away any plot holes or paradoxes by having savitar say that the more you time travel the less the rules apply to you. That's some nice spin.

That's the logic of time travel 
can't really explain it perfectly.
They talked about how he's a time remnant, which I don't know how that would work, probably to fill holes.
I think the jest of it is he is future flash. He suffers a loss and turns to the dark side.

Couple things I'm a little confused about:
1. Are we supposed to know what that red jewel looking thing is that can power the speed force bazooka? Was it from one of the other DC shows?
2. What do we know about Killer Shark? Last I clearly remember was E2 Wells zapping him with his meta human gun. I vaguely remember another episode where he was held captive in a tank but don't remember how that ended.

Sadly, I just vaguely remember the crossover with the aliens probably bc I didn't think it would be relevant to the season arc.
Did they explain what that jewel thing was bc I have no recollection of it?

Why did Tracy and HR show Barry the speed force cannon? Now Savitar knows about it.
Also, Killer Frost could have easily killed Tracy without any speedsters to worry about all episode but decided not to, I guess?

Well he already knows that emo Barry from the future told told current Barry that she is the one who traps Savitar. Savitar knows she is currently working on it.
The only thing Barry/Savitar doesnt know is that there is still some Caitlin left in Frost. Cisco and Co should not tell Barry anything she did while his mind was wiped.
