Just now finishing up the first season.

Show is legit. Best sci-fi/drama I’ve seen since BSG.

I'd never heard of it. On Sunday, I saw it being promoted on my FireTV/Prime so I tried it out. Ended up watching 4 episodes in a row. Definitely has a BSG feel to it.

The second season was solid also. I think the 3rd season is soon.

There's more books in this series than Game of Thrones (each season is based on a book in the series). The name of each season finale is the name of the book the season references.

Yep ... counting the days until S3 begins.

26, 25, 24, 23, .... twenty-three more days from about two hours ago.

SyFi Channel.

My phone countdown clock is set to go off thirty minutes before so I can drop a piece of dry ice in a frosty and fire-up a doobie in advance.

Hell yes it's a damn good series. I started the books thanks to season 1. But I'm only on book 4. All habe been good reads. Hope the show speeds past book 3 though. Could be kind of boring.

The entire 3rd season is based upon Abbadon's Gate.

There's still about 1/4 of caliban's war left i think. They need to wrap that up first.

Loosely based I would say - at least in terms of following the specific book. The storylines and characters are meshed a bit from a couple of books throughout the seasons 1-2. They've made some changes in terms of timings, characters showing up, etc. - all necessary for a tv show vs. a book (who doesn't want Chrisjen in every season?)

BTW - the books are largely great - I've liked every single one, but there's one definitely lower on the list than the others.

I have book one but never started it. If the series is following each book, I may wait to read them after I am finished with at least season two. Maybe I’ll be through with the first two books (I’m reading other stuff too) by the time season three (I’ll DVR them) is over.

One of the best shows on TV right now. Haven't read the books but the first two seasons were excellent.

Can't wait for season 3.

I was genuinely surprised by the production quality, considering it was from SyFy. Maybe I just haven't geen much of their shows any looks in a long time, but it had always been campy and low-quality to me.

I really enjoy the setting, it's rare (that I'm aware of) to see any sci-fi that deals solely with humanity within our solar system.

I have been wondering something about something upcoming in the show

Future SPOILERS below!!!

Is Thomas Jane coming back as Miller? Seems like they'll have to get him back and i'm hoping it's him. Really like him as Miller. My guess is that's how they end this upcoming season, with Holden turning around and seeing Miller and he says that "hey, we need to talk".

The Expanse is like a BSG meets Cowboy Bebop meets Event Horizon.

My girlfriend hates science fiction, and she loves this show.

I've always loved sci-fi, but as I've gotten older, I appreciate productions like this way more than something like Star Trek or Star Wars. We're still centuries away from anything seen in the show, but it's more reality than fantasy.
