Book 5 really was slow. It's really just a lead up into book 6.

A series of monumental events take place which change humanity's place in the cosmos and we get Belters revolting over 'reasons'. I get it, humans are gonna still be humans , protomolecule , giant space portal or not, but damn... it's kinda disappointing to think we'd so quickly go back being ... "us".

Didn't read the books, finally up to speed with the series. It took effort to power through the first season, until we got to the protomolecule stuff.
Definitely turned a corner once that happened.

Random thoughts- I have tended to like the guys on this show, but Naomi and most of the Belters are wearing on my nerves. Whiny, emotional, petulant brats speaking pidgin English... ugh.

I was wondering if my subtitles had gone wonky.

1 through 4 were amazing. 5 to 8 has been a little slow.

Yeah, this season feels like a let down because the back half was set up for season 6.

What a disappointing episode. Why focus on Naomi and why the hell are Amos and Peaches still on earth? Was really hoping this episode we see Amos getting the ship and getting to luna with everyone else. Just a waste of an episode where there's so few each season. I like drummer, but Pa > drummer. Since we have drummer instead of pa we get this weird scene of sad drummer.

Something else I just remembered is they've removed mars PM smith from the razorback with Bobbie and Alex.

How does everyone else think this season ends? Are they just going to end it when everyone gets to luna with the final scene being the Barkeith? I was hoping we'd at least get to them destroying the azure dragon and going to ceres. Probably not enough time left for that now.

Agreed. They have been building up some redemption arc and then boom. I have not read the books, so maybe that is just following the same path

Remember they chatted and he admits to hiding her son, so she asked him for help now and the scene cuts. She then got pulled in front of Marco and she looks to Cyn and he does nothing again. That was the end of any feelings Naomi had so when he entered the airlock she didn't GAF.

I'll probably watch it in a couple days, gotta work the next few.

Random thoughts on stuff= Earth should be in way worse shape than "a few million dead". The asteroid impacts alone... they said one hit in western Pennsylvania- that should have taken quite a few folks out instantly. Not sure where the others hit, -but they made a point of showing NYC and lots of other places under sea level, behind walls/dikes. The earthquakes and tsunamis from the multiple impacts should flood all of those places, and I think worldwide. That takes out just about every coastal area planetwide.
And then of course, talking longer term, the resulting winter will hammer agriculture mightily. This barrage should be near planet-killer level, not just on the scale of a couple nukes.

Kind of looks like they blew their budget on episodes 1 to 4 and are just coasting to the end of the season. Not a good look. Kind of GOTish. We didn't need three episodes pretty much centered around Marco, Naomi, and Phillip.

Amen. Sick of the belters.

At least we should get Amos and Peaches’s assault on Lake Winnepesaukee soon.

This part of the story is just a drag.

The standoff turns into a hot war in book 6. I expect season 6 to be violent.

And it killed about 15 billion people in the book. I don't know why the show is trying to whitewash this.

I wish they would recast Naomi.

Ended up just skipping her scenes.
