I thought they dragged out the scene for too long and that placed it in the not possible realm. The show is all about science, but she should have jettison earlier.
Maybe the miracle shot will be explained
Maybe the miracle shot will be explained
quote:
You would lose consciousness because there is no oxygen. This could occur in as little as 15 seconds.
Because there is no air pressure to keep your blood and body fluids in a liquid state, the fluids would "boil." Because the "boiling process" would cause them to lose heat energy rapidly, the fluids would freeze before they were evaporated totally (There is a cool display in San Francisco's science museum, The Exploratorium, that demonstrates this principle!). This process could take from 30 seconds to 1 minute. So, it was possible for astronaut David Bowman in "2001: A Space Odyssey" to survive when he ejected from the space pod into the airlock without a space helmet and repressurized the airlock within 30 seconds.
Your tissues (skin, heart, other internal organs) would expand because of the boiling fluids. However, they would not "explode" as depicted in some science fiction movies, such as "Total Recall."
You would face extreme changes in temperature: sunlight - 248 degrees Fahrenheit or 120 degrees Celsius;shade - minus 148 degrees Fahrenheit or minus 100 degrees Celsius
You would be exposed to various types of radiation (cosmic rays) or charged particles emitted from the sun (solar wind).

I just figured she injected herself with something beforehand like he injected herself with something halfway through.

I honestly thought she had some type of explosive and was trying to reach the ship, and then detonate so that Holden wouldn't be tricked into approaching the ship to find her.

The book, if I remember correctly, accounts for all of that science. She has awful radiation burns after the space walk, and she estimates that she has like 15 seconds to get into the other airlock. And she does use an oxygen injector or something that is an emergency deal that they all carry on spacewalks that buys you a little more time.
I haven't seen the scene on the series yet, though.

That would have been believable, but the doors open at 44:08 and close at 45:20. That is 1 min and 12 seconds of outer space for a human.
Just a nitpick I know, they should have made the journey be 30 seconds.

That was like a two minute, half a mile suitless spacewalk for Naomi

Agreed. They have been building up some redemption arc and then boom. I have not read the books, so maybe that is just following the same path.
I really wanted him to smash Marco's head, they really nailed an unlikable person for Marco. Oozes Millennial whining

Long conversations in the Belter dialect are starting to bother the shite out of me.

the wife and i were talking about that last night..... and some of these actors are so bad at it... talk just fine for 10 words then slur some twang belter word.

They are getting more and more caribbean english to me, which is funny as hell. Like the Irish better from earlier seasons
It also seems Indians and Asians never went to the belt to colonize.

Yea. I kept waiting for Naomi to drop the belter Bs just piss Marco off. Never happened. Disappointed. It’s an obnoxious accent.

Went pretty much the same in the books. Naomi felt guilty over killing Cyn but had to escape.

In the books Naomi was also slightly integrated into the crew and helping them out. Her getting the message to Holden out in the book was way more interesting than the show. It took her a lot more time to figure out how to release it. She also seemed to be pretty methodical in planning her escape and using the hyperoxygenated blood or whatever it was. They shortened way down for the show. Was hoping they'd have her space Cyn's arse in the show, too.

I’m getting tired of the space soap opera vibe. Every episode since 3 has been nothing but shitty dialects and drama.

I thinks why everyone loves Amos. Just a real dude in this ridiculous world.
Doesn’t hurt that he’s a badass

Yeah no lie. Naomi is over here crying, Holden is trying to figure out wtf is going on. Marcos is pulling his best Spanish soap opera and Amos is...maiming people.
