I thought it was a decent episode. It just had a few cringe dialogue scenes between the mom and Laura Lynney's character

I watched Ep. 1 -- ehh, not exactly the way I see it, but interesting.
Episode 2 -- Well, more of the same, but I think I'll stick it through.
Episode 3 -- What a load of woke propaganda crap! Did they (writers, directors, showrunners) really do this? Then later I see all the background stuff (writers, podcasts, etc.) and you can see this is EXACTLY what they are doing. Getting THEIR "message' across.
I'm out. Couldn't care less about the rest of the season. That's 3 hours of my life wasted.

the first one had a lot of problems despite being an "okay" entry and did push messaging (poor brown people vs the whiteish military)
Now Gunn has started to feel empowered with his activism with PS2 (Whites = Nazis/blacks victims); Supergirl (Manhater); Lanterns (Blacks victims). It's already failed twice, once in spectacular fashion, and I think I read they haven't been reporting the latest numbers on Lanterns, right?
People are going to stop going to see movies attached to him because they're being preached at. Couple that with the first Superman didn't do well internationally, made a small profit, and you have a potential problem on your hands
Look at the number of people in here saying they're out already (target audience)

Social media isn't real life. The GA will decide whether it succeeds or not. Anecdotal, but most people I know don't care about any of this stuff. Just look at The Odyssey. Social media would've had you thinking it was heading to be a flop, yet it's going to finish at 1.8B

People were going to show up for Nolan regardless and the fake black Helen wasn't a central character so it wasn't as pronounced. The movie itself wasn't preachy, while Gunn (everyone is tired of his style anyway) preaching is not going to hold up long

I can see Clayface and that Jimmy Olsen show struggle, but I highly doubt MOT is gonna flop. I just don't see that happening

MOT will do the same as Superman. It will break even and be average at best. The fact that it and Superman won’t be billion dollar movies is the crime.

The only Superman movie to hit a billion is the first (adjusted for inflation). Superman is known, but he's nowhere near as popular with the GA as Spiderman or Batman, IMO

Depending on your algorithm social media would’ve also had you believing it was a life changing experience and you were on the wrong side of history if you disagree.

I mean, I agree with that but that's beside the point. So much of social media was complaining about Page and Lupita. Even Elon got into it. And apparently it had millions of dislikes on YouTube lol. None of that crap mattered

I don't even have to read the comments to know this episode will have some controversy.
In any case, this episode was very well done. John's parents are incredibly fricked up, especially Mom. This explains why his personality is so doggone stoic. I'm hoping once he gets the ring, he will get some more personality though.
As it is now, he's an obedient lapdog who will follow any and every order. Hal is the exact opposite, so hopefully he will teach John to not be so naive.

The scene where the guardian meets John Stewarts mother may be the most realistic scene ever. Even when meeting an alien black people still playing victim.
