the whole point is to show you there are different things to be taken from different comic runs for the show.
No, there aren't. At no point in the comics does John Stewart ever go from random human to "living conduit of lantern energy." There is no precedent for that. That is skipping a ton of steps.

So your answer to reality is they're adapting a story based after John Stewart is no longer a Green Lantern. You're making my point for me

Oh man. I could be the living conduit of Lantern energy!

And that’s one of the mistakes a lot of SH shows make recently. Skipping over characters and storylines which messes up continuity.
Yes. If they're really going straight to "John Stewart has god-level powers and doesn't need a ring," it ruins everything about Green Lanterns and makes the entire Corp irrelevant. Makes him a "Mary Sue."
It would be like knowing Starlord in Guardians of the Galaxy was half-celestial before he's holding an infinity stone. Completely lessens the impact.

Nope, you didn't prove me wrong in any way. You keep jumping to John Stewart stories told long after he became a Green Lantern. You miss the part where none of those stories work if he isn't already a Green Lantern before they happen.

But why watch the show if it bothers you so much?

If they give John Stewart powers without a ring it is a complete rejection of how Green Lanterns are supposed to work.
Hal Jordan is able to forge his own ring through sheer willpower..how is that any different?

Who said the show bothered me? First episode was great. Second episode is crap. Hopefully they return to form in the third episode.
This conversation is about people who don't know anything about Green Lanterns who are shilling for a bad corporate take on John Stewart. If they go the route you guys suggest, it will not be a good Green Lantern show. They haven't done that yet.

Homie, that is you saying you are bothered by the show.

It isn't, but this Hal Jordan has been shown to have the ring for decades. That would be in line with a Hal Jordan character who has been a Green Lantern for that long. Sinestro has also forged his own ring.

No it isn't. That hasn't happened in the show yet. You literally quoted me saying "They haven't done that yet."

So you're pre-bothered by it.
That makes total sense.
Regardless, why are you bothered by people enjoying the show?

None of these sentences describe what I have stated in this thread. Why do you lie?

There are 10+ posts by you that say otherwise, but aight champ.

Absolutely 0. You are lying. There are posts by me that say I didn't like the second episode, but that's not a hot take. Nothing happened in the second episode. It was a waste of time.

By all means, quote a post from me saying I don't like this show.
It's not my fault Madking knows more about Green Lantern than you. I'm just not going to state otherwise when he clearly is more knowledgeable on this subject.
