he will. he's no Joker. he can be bought. same goes for Bale. Michael Caine said he's always down for the Alfred role.

then there will be another one.

Book it.
Nolan doesn't seem like the kind of director who would do something like that. Bale also doesn't seem like the kind of actor who would do that either. That is just my opinion though.

Now, there is always the chance of some other director and actor pick up the Batman mantle, but that isn't a new concept.

I'm telling you, Batman will live and it will be the end of Nolan's Batman trilogy.

He'll have probably made enough for the first 3 Batman movies, along with others like Inception, where money isn't that big of a deal to him.

they better kill him at the end of the movie. if this is the last one, make damn sure it lets us know there won't be another one.

Who said anything about this being the last one? Nolan has said he is done with Batman films for the time being, but has also said he's open to the idea of revisiting them at a later time.

you sure he didn't say that between the dark knight's filming and release dates?

You have a link to him saying this? It's pretty well known that he's made it clear that he's 3 and out. WB has already stated that they will be rebooting after DKR and not continuing Nolan's universe.

i don't want it if Nolan doesn't do it. no body has a better mind to do it IMO. Maybe Martin Scorsese, but who knows.

I'll check out any Batman that come's out but no doubt it will be a tall task to beat Nolan's vision.

after watching shutter island and inception, i, for a second or two, thought it was made by the same person.

I heard about that as well, but I also heard a conflicting interview with Nolan that took place in late April/early May where he said he was open to the idea of coming back to the franchise later down the line.

I'll try finding it.

Finch: For the love of all that is good and holy keep Scorcese away from Batman. He can direct some generic crime drama using stereotypes and worn out formulas elsewhere.

Giving Scorsese Batman would be like giving Michael Bay the director's chair for a horror movie. Some things just don't mesh.

There was this line in the article I linked.

quote:

Once he's finished, the character will be rebooted (with Nolan's input), and, most likely, attached to a narrative that will lead to a JUSTICE LEAGUE movie in 2013.

I could see him being involved like this but I doubt he directs anymore of them. I would think there are a lot of other projects that he'd like to work on now that he's got the TDK/Inception clout to work with.

Terrible if true. might as well get Screech to play Batman.

Yeah I saw what you said back when it was first making the rounds. What I'm saying is, that about 5-6 weeks later, I heard a conflicting interview from Nolan that basically stated that this isn't the end of the Batman universe he created. He said he's done for the time being but that he would be open to coming back to the same franchise at a later date.

I've also heard that chest beating about a new JLA movie from the new WB head was just fodder to attract some positive attention toward himself to 1. Help stock prices and 2. Counteract the attention that Disney is getting via The Avengers and its assorted movies.

I'm all for a JLA movie if done right, I just don't see it happening anytime soon - at least not for the next 4-5 years.

They'd have to reboot Batman, reboot The Green Lantern (which already has a sequel in the works) and potentially reboot Superman, which just got moved back to Summer 2013.

Spoilers kind of:

I made up the Blake part, but doesn't Bane break Batman's back in the comics at the end? Isn't he the one that eventually kills Batman?

ETA:

that is coming purely from childhood memories. I could be off.

He did break Batman's back, but that didn't kill him. It just put him in a wheelchair until he recovered.

Which sounds like a terrible idea for the movie, I really doubt they tie this in

I totally agree. And the problem there is by the time WB gets their shite together, the craze over comicbook movies may well be over.

I'm rooting for a great JLA movie but my hopes aren't high.

That's because they will be trying to copy Marvel by bringing Batman into a more fantastic world, instead of the realistic world that Nolan created, so they can set up a stupid Justice League movie.

I believe Warner Bros. expressed interest late last year in continuing the current Batman continuity in a TV show...though I highly doubt it will happen.

I personally don't believe Batman will die. I think that all Nolan is doing is creating a film version of the Year One mythos. The trilogy is all about Bruce Wayne's transformation into the Dark Knight. Sure, he's Batman right now, but I believe the title suggests that - at least by the end of the film - Batman will have become the Batman we know and love from the comics. He's not quite there yet.
