I have absolute confidence in Tom Hardy. I have no confidence in Anne Hathaway playing anything other than a dent in a mattress.

The actors are not my concern, its the characters they are playing. not crazy about it. I thought Eckhart was the worst part of the Dark Knight. His character was terrible--especially toward teh end.

I'm not a fan of her acting abilities. However, I would beat the brakes off of her

I literally watched it 2 minutes ago. +15 Fanboy points. The force is growing.

Then why even put a trailer out?
I'll admit, I'm just spit balling here...but I think a teaser has something to do with marketing and generating a little early buzz.

I haven't been impressed by the poster or this trailer at all.
They should probably just shut the production down then.

But is this a movie that really needs anymore early buzz? Nolan's Bat Flicks seem to have a built-in audience.
It also seems bizarre marketing strategy to release a teaser but then remove it from any sites where people can view it.

It wasn't meant to be seen/released until Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 comes out. WB did not willingly release it yet...Hence the term "leaked."

Definitely doesn't need any more buzz for the geeks, but you know that's not who the majority of the marketing is meant to entice...it's for the fringe people, whoever they are, that are are undecided if they'll check it out. You know they'd put "The Dark Knight Rises" at the fifty yard line of every NFL stadium if they could.

Not really, it's all part of the plan. Gotta keep the geeks drooling.

That does explain it. But it seems kinda dumb on their part. I'm sure I'm not the only one not planning on seeing Harry Potter, seems they'd want their Teaser to be seen by as many people as possible. Internet leaks would accomplish that.

well i'm sure it'll be officially released to the masses after that first premiere before the HP movies.

So they are using it as a way to get people into Harry Potter? "Hey look we know you don't care about Harry Potter but if you buy a ticket you can see the new Dark Knight Teaser!"
If you're gonna release a teaser just release it. You don't have to have premiere date for a teaser.
/end whine

If I recall correctly, back in '99, people were paying full ticket price to "Meet Joe Black" to get to see the trailer for "Star Wars: Episode I" and then walking out of the theater when the trailer was over.
I don't think WB is looking at this as a way to boost sales for Potter, it isn't necessary. But they do want to start to generate buzz for the film, which I agree, isn't needed. Undoubtedly, after HP is released, WB will release the teaser officially online. But by pulling it, all WB does is generate more geek need to see it. (i.e. more buzz).

It's definitely a teaser. Bane looks awesome...or what we saw.

worked for me. Shows a lot more than the teaser from The Dark Knight.
