They better bring Maeve back.

The show takes shots at everyone, sure its political but it hits all sides.
We say that, I’ve said that. That’s the overall takeaway.
But they’ve devoted a lot of time and material to trashing Christianity pretty hard. And the Vought/Homelander rallies which many have mentioned. Have they depicted leftists or “the other side” in any negative or mocking way?
I think we say “balanced” because the references are often nuanced as to who/what is being referenced, but with a more detailed look, there’s a lot of shots taken at the right but don’t recall much if any to the left. Have they depicted some antifa type mobs?
I don’t care mostly. I just roll my eyes and stick to the story, but if we’re discussing, and we enjoy discussing the show, just giving a point of view.

They literally showed the only lesbian in the entire show having sex with a man. Arguably the second most fricked up character in the entire show is a black man and the show spends plenty of time making him feel as small and shitty as possible. Not to mention 95% of the show’s women are sexualized in some way. Also they aren’t strong for jack shite aside from Maeve. Even Stormfront got shite on by a 9 year old who had no clue he had powers.

The hardcore leftist throwing shite at Ryan and Vought being an ultra woke corporation kept calling Maeve lesbian when she’s stated many times she’s bisexual all happened in the final five minutes

I can’t tell if Maeve hates Hughie or wants to frick him at this point

That doesn’t strike me as much I guess. There’s been ample gay sex coverage so I think they’re good there.
The mockery of AT’s faux black pride attempt was something balanced. I’m sure there’s been some other balanced depictions that I don’t recall.

Yeah that’s a good point. They’ve put a ton of mockery on corporate wokeness.

Yeah there was a whole storyline about how much Maeve hated being called a lesbian because she’s actually bi. It’s a pretty funny take on how even the left and media in general ignores bi people

Lets not forget the woke amusement park, all the random background advertisements, etc.
This show is INTENDED to be offensive.

Oh she hates him. She definitely prefers Alpha’s. But I think she gives him so much shite because she wants some Starlight. Can’t blame her.

In the comics Noir was a clone of Homelander. Maybe Vaught can bring him back with Soldier Boy DNA or something.
It is a sad day to be a Noir fan :(
This was my first thought as soon as that scene went down. Maybe not as a Homelander clone like in the comics, but give him the powers of Soldier Boy, Homelander, or I guess whatever they really want him to be. Basically follow what the comics did to him and bring him back to basically act as a fail-safe against Homelander.
Could you imagine that scene? Black Noir comes from around a corner, displays his new abilities, or some shite and Homelander is shocked but also scared shitless of his ability. That would be great. Also, there's no way that's the last we see of Soldier Boy or Maeve.
Lastly, am I the only one who wishes they would either follow the Netflix format of just releasing it all at once or the Disney+ format of week by week? They basically did the middle with releasing almost half the season in one day and it made the show feel like it came and went super fast.

The second bad guy is an AOC clone. I'm a conservative, and think the Trump/Homelander thing is extremely hamfisted by the writer but it's not just conservatives that are being parodies. Just turn your brain off and enjoy the show for the good story and great acting.

Noir has said like 15 total words and he is still easily my favorite character
Wait, what? Noir hasn’t spoken a single word the entire series, right?
Finished the finale a little while ago. This is such a fricking awesome show.
It seemed a little too easy for HL to win Ryan over. But I guess it was necessary for the story for it to happen that quick.
Is Maeve stronger than I thought or was HL taking it easy on her? Seems like he’s should’ve wiped the floor with her fairly easily. He smoked Noir in half a second with one punch.
I was mad at Butcher for SB being stopped ONCE AGAIN from using his power laser on HL. But I guess it makes sense with Butcher’s promise to his wife with Ryan. But still, I was hoping for some sort of resolution.
So Maeve sacrifices herself and destroys SB….but neither one of them are actually dead?
I liked the scenes with HL and Ryan. Anthony Starr really does deserve an Emmy for this shite.
Was hoping to get some TempV’d up MM, but it didn’t happen. Womp womp.
I was also wondering if they’d have the balls to kill off Butcher at the end. But thankfully they didn’t.
Can someone explain the significance of the VP candidate that Deep killed? I didn’t remember if he was important from previous episodes/seasons, or if that was just a way to get head pop chick more into the fray. OR, was that the “transaction” angle she offered to HL in the last episode or so..?
And this show is teetering carefully on present-day politics. HL killing that dude at the end and being cheered for it feels a lot like political idiots of today (on both sides). I was wondering if we’d start to see him go completely off the rails this season, but we didn’t. But that last scene was certainly a glimpse into that, and Ryan enjoying it was a little unsettling.

Some good tie-ups, but overall seemed like a huge waste. Soldier Boy wasn’t a hero, wasn’t good just another element of chaos, but a means to an end, and attacking him only prevented that end. Seems kinda pointless and stupid. They’re not much better off than before, maybe worse. Still good viewing.
I can kinda get onboard with some of that. The whole SB thing does end up feeling like a waste. And that’s why I made the point in my previous post about his once again SB was on the verge of using his power but it room a little bit too long and then something happened that made him not do it. That’s what, three times they’ve done that now? And after this entire season, it seems like nothing really advanced forward toward a solution, and they are in a worse situation than they were before.
And I also agree that someone dying would’ve been better. As it stands now there aren’t really major consequences for any of the main characters. Even Frenchie got shot and was simply limping around in the next scene. I guess you could argue that Maeve had high stakes when she lost her powers, but that’s it. Everyone else is fine.

So Maeve sacrifices herself and destroys SB….but neither one of them are actually dead? At least with Maeve she’s lost her powers. But SB seems like he’s just being put in cryo until the plot needs him again.
Apparently Soldier Boy would have killed the weak folk, and depowered the strong ones. Ryan and Homelander, like Maeve and Kimiko, would have survived, but have been "normal humans" afterwards. Starlight was iffy, everyone else is dead.
And this would have been exactly what Butcher wanted; with the exception that Soldier Boy would still be alive. But he's knocked out and taken prisoner... was that from the fall or from his blast? If it's the blast, the Feds get him and put him on ice again, like what happened anyway.
No idea how Maeve survives, if she loses her powers a fall from that height kills her instantly.

Literally my exact thought process but keep the same Noir suit. Bring my guy back Amazon!!!!

He spoke with Edgar in the Nicaragua flashback scene

I think it’s a combination of things. Homelander is still the most powerful supe in The Boys world but he’s not as insanely powerful as some thought he could be (like Superman strong). Maeve is pretty strong. Strong enough to hold her on against him. But at the same time HL was holding back. At least at first. I think a longer fight results in her dying with HL getting a few injuries of his own

Yeah. He asked Deep to do it. Now he’ll have ties to the highest office in the land. But at the same time they don’t really trust each other. Though she now has way more to offer him alive than if he wanted to kill her
