I'm watching the first episode, and I'll keep watching, but man the guy who plays Fett is so damn old. The action scenes remind me of Roger Moore's last couple of James Bond movies. Maybe that's by design?

I don't think it's bc of age. Because he was an absolute sledgehammer in Mando S2/ep6, which ironically was directed by the same guy who directed episodes 1 & 3 of this Boba series, both of which had complaints for subpar action scenes. It is a mystery.

I still haven't finished the Clone Wars series because before Disney+ came out I had to watch it sporadically, so I had kinda forgotten about the Cad Bane character. So when they initially show the blue chin under the hat my dumbass was like "OH shite IT'S THRAWN" like why would Thrawn be there?

For reference Thrawn was from SW Rebels, but it seems he might be in Ashoka series and possibly who Mof Gideon works for in Mando. Either way he is expected to reappear.

I’ve always wondered why Han/Leia would name him Ben. They didn’t have the connection to him that Luke did. Yes, Leia went to him for help but there was never a really close connection that I saw.

Disney named him Ben but the story they are using from the EU they had twin named Jaina Solo and Jacen Solo.

quote:

IIRC in the EU Luke and Mara Jade’s son was named Ben

That is correct

quote:

Now MARA JADE is who I wanna see

That would be awesome.

If Disney would run a series or some movies following the EU version with the twins and Ben Skywalker that would be a great story line.

I watched episode 1 and just like I thought I would be, was just kinda meh. Temuera Morrison to me just doesn’t have charisma if that helmet isn’t on. So I didn’t watch for a month.

Saw the IMDB scores of eps 5 & 6 skyrocket and had to catch back up to see what happened. These last two episodes have saved the show if you ask me.

It’s kind of sad that Boba can’t bring that by himself but idc. Bringing in Mando, Luke, Ashoka and Bane was a slam dunk decision. I can’t wait to see the finale now. It’s clear Favreau wanted to turn these Disney+ series into a sort of MCU-lite, having known heroes and villains popping in and out of each different series. The possibilities are endless.

Just keep his helmet on and give Boba a badass jet pack fight sequence against Bane, using all his tech instead of that damn Tusken staff and he can still have his moment.

Damn shame watching this and remembering what they did to Luke in the sequels. frick those movies

I guess the mandalorian title is actually Grogu and not Din.

I could be misreading, but you'd think a platonic goodbye between friends might be more, "Thanks for dropping by/Take care/Stay safe" kind of thing. Though the Will I see you again line simply might've been dropped only as an easter egg hinting at a future Jedi team-up in the Ahsoka series or Mando S3.

I dunno. Dawson definitely plays Ahsoka with a flirty, cheery demeanor. But Luke knows she was his fathers Padawan and she’s currently the only other person with Jedi trsin8ng he knows of in the galaxy. Could just be the companionship of a confidant that k owns what you’re going through.

I think (hoping) that it’s starting out slow with Boba because he’s trying to rule differently. Hopefully after the war with the Pykes, he realizes he has to flex some badassery to keep people in line.

I don't think so... Boba seems to be going the entrepreneur route, not the Crime Boss (like Jabba) route. He's going to use violence to protect his own, but not to force folks in line. And currently he's doing a piss-poor job of it. That cantina/club was under his protection, he failed to keep them safe. He's going to have to step it up, or they won't pay his bill.

I tend to agree but hes gonna keep using that tusken staff lmao they built it into his identity at this point in the show. but he will probably also ride a rancor to make up for it.

I'm calling it. Cad Bane will kill Fennec and Han Solo will kill Cad Bane in a duel.

I've been thinking this for a long time. But this morning I thought about ta different scenario.

Maybe Grogu goes with Luke to continue his training thus tying up the Grogu storyline, at least for a little while. We can't have Din on Mandalore wrecking shite and half the audience is wondering where is baby Yoda. So, maybe this is just a way for F&F to put Grogu on the shelf for a little bit.

Taking away a popular character like that might be a bad move. But it would also grow the demand for him to come back, possibly with his own show, featuring Luke and some other force users.

Interesting fan theory and I missed it.

quote:

Some fans have pointed out a symbol that may indicate a connection to The Clone Wars. Per Reddit, the symbol in the hallway seen in Grogu’s flashback at the Jedi Temple match ones seen in the quarters of disgraced Jedi padawan Barriss Offee, Ahsoka’s friend. Some are speculating this means Barriss was responsible for getting Grogu to safety during Order 66.

Some think she may appear at some point either here or in the Ashoka series. Last I thought she was still imprisoned at the Jedi Temple during the purge. So who knows. Would be an interesting character with Ashoka.

Qi’ra a lot more speculation she will show up. I guess since the War of the Bounty Hunters event last year might make sense but IIRC correctly she was a part of Shadow Syndicate and the leader when Maul was gone but it broke up and tried to come back as a smaller entity.

Episode 6 is far and away the best thing in the Star Wars universe since the original trilogy. Wow. Who knew Boba Fett would be a vessel for that awesomeness?

Could be, like how the title Return of the Jedi is about Anakin and not Luke.
