Very solid start.
So, was that the mayor's guys that attacked them in the streets?

Most likely. Not sure who that mayor guy is but I gotta think he's got an arse whooping coming his way.

Do I need to watch The Mandalorian before watching this?

Probably.

But if you are the least bit interested in this, you should watch the Mandalorian just bc it's fantastic.

So far so good. Didn't think the assassins tried very hard. The desert monster looked like a miniature kraken from the 1980s clash of the Titans movie.

For anyone that followed now what is called Legends he is heavily involved with so much of the universe including duels with Darth Vadar and much more.

Yeah, I spent many days as a kid reading the Legends.

And this first episode was fricking great. Love the tone and like others have said, it just feels like Star Wars.

Was that Luke's old home we saw on Tatooine? Pretty sure it was.

Spoilers

I’m a SW novice so take it easy..

Does Boba let his captors win that fight in the desert?

Also when he’s in the water tank, I’m assuming he’s dreaming about things that happened in the past, right?

Don't believe so, the timeline doesn't match. His home was destroyed in Episode IV A New Hope and by storm troopers. All took place before when he saw that home burning. Probably done by the Mayor thugs, maybe a prelude to something in a future episode.

No, I think he just wasn’t 100% due to him being chained and hiking all day. And beaten

Bacta tank used for healing, and yes he’s dreaming back to the past

When the locals were paying tribute to Fett was the Trandoshan holding a Wookiee skin?

I mean, baby Yoda is universally loved by audiences, and he's not even the best part about the show. But you do you. I haven't heard that take from anyone before.

He was. Killing a wookie has got to be rather difficult. I think if we see him again he will be an ally to Boba.
