I did not know that. That's pretty cool.

It says something about Pedro Pascal as an actor, whether you agree or disagree with his politics, that when he saw the distinctive walk/swagger that Wayne was doing he insisted on copying that. So you have Pascal copying Brendan Wayne who is copying John Wayne.

A lot of the big emotional scenes in the first season of Mando were with Wayne under the mask. He appears to have cut things back a bit after nearly dying but he appears at quite a few events. Everyone on the Fav and Fil shows seems to love the guy.

Is this in the BTS/Making of Mando series on Disney+ ? I watched those episodes after Mando S2 but all I remember is the revolutionary Volume stuff & the between-scenes Baby Yoda interactions with George Lucas and others.

Loved how the Darksaber is wielded with the mind and not the body.

Oh, that made me think of something. I bet when Mando goes to see Baby Yoda, he will try to get Luke to help him get a better mastery of that sword. Enlighten him on the Force a bit, maybe.

Mostly I got this from articles, they touch on but don't dive into the whole "for most of the first season our lead actor wasn't on the set."

Here's an early article. LINK

Favreau, it should be noted, is like a lot of directors in that he has certain actors or performers he likes to use. Wayne is one of them, Misty Rosas (who did the suit work for Kuiil and the Frog Lady) is another.

Not that I would support any reference to the Sequels, but if Mando does visit Grogu and Luke, would a young Ben Solo make an appearance?

I hoping they wipe the sequels out of canon and The Mandalorian is a backdoor way of doing that, but even so, we’re only 5 years from Endor. If Ben is alive, he’s likely very young (2-3) at this point. Even if you assume that Han and Leia played a round of hide the naked Wookiee right after the credits rolled on RoTJ, he would be at max 5 years old. I know the old Jedi order would train kids that young, but Luke wasn’t around for that and likely wouldn’t want to be training a kindergarteners for his first batch of students.

And that droid was definitely the same model as Cal’s but I seriously doubt it was his actual droid. They had a perfect story set up for him having found the Holocron with a list of force sensitive kids, but he destroyed it. Who knows maybe they bring him into the mainline story in the sequel, but honestly, I felt that his story was great because other than the big HOLY frick IT’S HIM AND HE’S GOING HAM” moment at the end, it felt really isolated and self contained. Not everyone’s story needs to tie together in a massive galaxy over the course of decades.

He’s gone. Maybe in the Cassian Andor series, but honestly would prefer if they left him out of Kenobi.

They never actually showed the Warriorette or the Tusken kid dead.

But even if they were dead, in the Disneyverse (SW & Marvel), who really stays dead anymore? (Palpatine, Boba, Shand, Loki, Gamora, Vision, Fury, etc.

Dumb question but can someone explain this episode timeline and different timelines
of this show vs The Mandalorian?

Mando and non-flashback Boba chapters are in 9ABY (After the Battle of Yavin, which occurs in A New Hope).

I wrote this earlier which I think is more or less correct:

The stories are more or less concurrent in roughly 9 ABY. The Stormtrooper heads on spikes in the flashback in Boba E3 lines up with the Gunslinger episode of the Mandalorian in the first season, IIRC E5. So only a short time from the end of Mando S2 to Boba E5.

The end of Mando S2 plus the time to get and execute the Klatoonian bounty equals Boba E5. You would figure he would have started searching for the Covert immediately, replaced his ship ASAP, and started learning about the use of the Dark Saber quickly.

The flashback timeline is a little more messy and I haven't tried to reconcile all of it, I will wait until some YTer figures it out. I am thinking the flashbacks start in roughly 4 or 5 ABY.

Rebels is canon and I don’t think they’d retcon major plot points from that show, so I can’t see Maul showing up in Kenobi unless its to do a live action version of a scene we’d already seen in Rebels. I want a live action Crimson Dawn crime boss Maul though

2. Something I always think about with Star Wars is how the planets are treated like countries. They mention 3 cities on Tatooine and people pretty much travel between them.

Most Star Wars planets that have been shown in the movies and shows seem to have either one world governments (Coruscant) or governments that don't necessarily rule the entire plant but are dominant enough they are considered the defacto ruling body for the planet (Naboo).

Also, Tatooine isn't typical of the heavily habituated planets as it's a backwater outer rim planet w/very little of value to draw anyone to it. I imagine there simply aren't enough resources on planet to have better connected cities.

So my guess with his telling her he had go see someone first, meaning Grogu, I doubt we will see Mando back again this season.

Probably not, but without a doubt it was the best episode of the season so far. It was a well orchestrated teaser from Disney, simple as that. The mouse knows what’s it’s doing, now only if a billion+ dollar company could invest a little more money into its app.
