The Blackening is a great comedy/horror flick.

If you enjoyed Cabin in the Woods, you’ll enjoy the Blackening. 9/10 for sure.

Sounds like it was cleverly written.

Why assume that. I’d figure maybe a little bit. Over anything, I’d figure it’s mainly black people making fun of black people stereotypes

Basically this. Of course there are a few bits of “that’s that white people shite” as it relates to horror movie stereotypes but it’s definitely not a “hate Whitey/make fun of whitey” film.

9/10? So you put it up there with some of the best movies ever made?

Bingo

There's actually a dialogue in the movie when a cast member asks another cast member; "Which white person wants to see us dead?" And the response is "Probably every one of them, but that's beside the point."

It's just more woke/racist garbage.

I bet the theater experience for this movie would be way more funny and entertaining than the actual movie itself

Wrong
Its 95% making fun of black people stuff. Just a real fun movie.
There is plenty of woke stuff out there to hate, this isn't it.

I'll watch this later on streaming. No chance in hell I'm watching it in a theater.

Yep

That is if you're content with not being able to hear any actual movie audio.

Just watched this movie.

Hilarious.

My wife grew up in an extremely white part of the country and didn’t get the jokes but I found it hilarious growing up in Louisiana.

I watched it last night and was pleasantly surprised. Def a few unnecessary jabs but nothing to lose sleep over. Worth a watch for sure. Had Game Night vibes with a little more of a horror vibe. Would watch again.

Exactly how I feel.

It’s a fricking comedy and this one actually tried to be funny. If they weren’t jabbing, they weren’t trying.

Very much worth a watch.
