I was fortunate to be able to watch Risky Business in private the first time I saw the whole thing. Beastmaster may have also gotten some use in those days.

They stood down then gave him this pendant like thing. I think Dar probably sent the eagle to get their help.

I was thinking that he sends the eagle off with the pendant thing, but I don't recall seeing that last night when I finished it. Granted, I did finish it while also watching my son in my living room, so I could have missed that.

HA HA. You fool! It's obviously a Harris' Hawk, not any sort of eagle.

Know your raptors, bro.

Everywhere I am looking says it's a golden eagle.

By the way, I really thought about doing an "Overanalyze" thread on The Beastmaster, but decided against it. There were definitely some parts that bugged me though. One that stood out was that they were around the fire at night and Dar uses his eagle ( ) vision to see that Kiri was being led to her sacrifice, and it was straight up daytime instead of night. Also, I thought they lived in the little kingdom where the temple was, so why were they escorting the girls through mountains and over rivers? I was confused by that.

A year later, one of my buddies turning 13 decided to have a movie party and talked his dad into taking us all to see...

I'm sure that's the story Dad told mom. He was innocently talked into letting yall watch it. The reality is Dad probably knew EXACTLY what was going on and used it as a way to sneak one past mom and watch the wind gust at just the exact right moment in movie history!

There may be some that have been AS sexy as De Mornay was in that movie, but NONE who were MORE.

Here's the best part of that story...not ten minutes after typing that out earlier I happened to open my Facebook account (yeah, I know) and low and behold the friend I was talking about here is having his 50th birthday today!

Maybe that's what the script says, but that's not with the bird was.

So...we're both right? Haha.

Well I think Ruh is supposed to be a panther, but I read that he was a tiger that they painted black. And the subtitles call him "black tiger."

I have a friend, and former college roommate, we called Phat Phil - because he's, well, fat.

You ever hear of giving someone the "Flying Squirrel?" It's when you pull the skin of your ballsack out of your pants, and stretch it so that it looks like a flying squirrel's wings. If you get someone to look at your squirrel, you've just flying squirrelled them.

Anyway, ol' Phat Phil's squirrel had a 12" wingspan. It was huge.

We used to joke that a Haitian refugee family could live in it quite comfortably.

We also joked that he probably traps people in it, and sucks the essence out of them like these bat guys from Beastmaster. So we started calling him Beastmaster.

I was grown by the time of the movie but I would have if it came out 15 years earlier or maybe even 10.

and I forgot about big John Amos being in this thing

Tanya Roberts was like a supernova of hotness for a brief time in Hollywood

Okay. Just got home and checked, and I was right. He does send the eagle off. After they defeat Maax he’s sitting on the temple and throws the pendant thing to the eagle and he flies off to go get those winged things.
