re: Jose Chavez y Chavez

I watched both YG movies in the theaters as a teen, and I've loved them since then. In the early 2000's after probably a thousandth rewatch, I started researching the true story of Billy the Kid and realized that YG was a very loosely based true story. The real stories of the events in the YG movi...

I concur! And the "I need to set up my tripod in the middle of the walkway to record my lift for Instagram" guys. Makes me want to do bodily harm to people. ...
My rep. just replied to my email. Apparently, the senate added 2 bad amendments as a requirement to get the votes, so the bill's author deferred it. They basically "killed it with amendments" is how she worded it. She said it will be back on the agenda in 2024....
Interesting take. I have a question then. Would you still stand by this if the classes and permits were free? Because about 100% of the "range officers and firearms instructors" that I argue this topic with have a monetary benefit in REQUIRING the classes they teach. Now, would you still be in f...
I recently bought a frame with a Viridian laser for $99.00 with free shipping and ordered a sniper green slide. Put it together this weekend and shot it. Like butter! Barely any recoil. Ate everything with no malfunctions. And it's comfortable to shoot. I love it....
Pros- decent marksman, above average in blood tracking, strong and in decent shape (can drag a deer effectively) Cons- horrible wing shot, not very patient ...

re: Banks holding funds for a week is BS.

The reason they hold the funds is to prevent transaction losses. It can take up to 7 business days for a check to clear from another institution, and I've seen checks that had a 9 day hold placed on them get returned. If the hold would have dropped earlier, the customer would have spent the funds, ...
This summer, we visited Covington, GA (because my daughter is obsessed with the Vampire Diaries!) and while talking to a shop owner there, she told me that right behind her shop is the street that Burt landed the airplane in to go to the store to pick up a six pack! And the corner of the square i...
Why? That seems so unfair. Using a projectile weapon makes it too easy. Why not a spear like a real man? Or why not just a knife? Nah. Both have sharpened blades. You should hunt with your hands. That's the ultimate thrill and the only fair way. Don't you think?...

I just bought a Hi Point 995 TS (And fricken' love it!!), and it seems to add about 200 to 300 FPS. I would assume the Keltec would be around the same. ...
I second this. Easier than washing your car, and it has lasted for months on my 3 vehicles....

I actually wouldn't be opposed to limiting them to gun season, honestly. Leave the "true" archers a few weeks to be in the woods before all the wusses with guns start putting pressure on the deer. ...

I totally agree about Muzzleloaders. The "primitive caliber" crap is ridiculous. Either allow all calibers of firearms or only allow muzzle loaded firearms. Or just extend rifle season. Socialism is ridiculous. As a staunch conservative, I agree with you there as well. However, you cannot h...

I figured as much. My issue isn't so much with the crossbow. As I said, I've only hunted with one 2 times. My issue is those that insult others for using one. I've lurked on this site for years without posting, and finally just became a member, so that's a few years of suppressed thoughts into th...

Not insecure at all. I love shooting it, and I don't care what anyone thinks about that. I bought it for 2 reasons- I love to shoot it, and I wanted my son to be able to bowhunt with me, and he is not big enough to pull back a bow. Truth be told, I've only hunted with my crossbow twice and killed 1...

Oh, don't get me wrong. I also hunt with a real bow. I've had many kills with them from squirrels to whitetails. I consider myself a good bowhunter, and I've worked hard to become one. And I counter with this- archers don't belong in the special hunting class with real hunters- men that hunt...

So you hunt with a speargun? Well, that's not spearhunting. You're using a device that propels it. True spearhunting is throwing the spear. Then, if you spearhunt, it's not good enough. You should just use a knife to make it "real". Then, the knife is not fair. You should just use your ...

They fire sticks with broadheads on the ends of them propelled by strings attached to limbs. And you have to pull back the string for it to fire. So what type of spear do you use to hunt with? Metal, or flint knapped? ...

re: Land financing question

If you have the cash, you may want to approach the bank that you deal with and ask them to do a savings or CD secured loan for the purchase of the land. The rate will be the lowest possible, and the money will still be in the bank (albeit, frozen to secure the loan). As the loan pays down, the mon...
