Yup Valentine day is my absolute favorite with that scene
The one with the dead seal at the dinner party, trying to save Duke’s from gentrification, the cabin where frasier realizes his gf looks like his mom, the one where eddie runs away to avoid getting neutered and the ham radio are all way higher on my list.

Niles getting ready for Valentine’s Day may be the funniest scene of the whole series.
I know it's borderline sacrilege to say, but I've never cared for that opening. I think there's two reasons:
1) At that point I was watching Frasier live during is run and I remember hearing advertisements for the upcoming episode having one of the funniest scnees in TV history. Like there was absurd hyperbole all week leading up to it so maybe that's partially my fault for having too high of expectation
2) It's just SO over the top. Look it's a TV show, I get it. I don't expect it to not have some absurd parts. But we'r enot talking like the simpsons or something that fully bends the rules of reality...it's Frasier. Real people in a mostly real life kinda show. So Niles, a doctor mind you, catching a one millisecond glimpse of blood on his finger causes him to instantly pass out ? Not to mention someone as fastidious as Niles wouldn't ever set a hot iron directly onto his pants then just walk away, I don' care how distracted he may be. We go from "oh no it looks like he's going to ruin his pants!" to pants ignited, fuel accelerant everywhere, couch on fire, dinner pots filled with food all over the room, sprinklers and alarms going off...I mean it was just so unbelievably over the top which isn' really what I'd expect from Frasier.
Nothing against DHP's acting mind you, he played the scene wonderfully. It just wasn't my cup of tea, and I think I dislike it even more since it's widely considered one of the funniest parts/scenes/episodes in the entire show.

I disagree with a lot of his choices, but can't fault a guy for sticking with one episode per show.
I can definitely fault them because its' completely at odds with the actual title of the article. This list isn't "the 100 best TV episodes of all time". It's actually "The best episode of 100 different TV shows - ranked". Massive difference. If the title was actually accurate I don't think many people would fuss over the list at all other than standard message board grumbling which is par for the course.

I hope Rolling Stone knows more about rating TV shows than they do about rating guitar players.

rollingstone...why post the opinion of woke leftist activists here as if it should be respected. that's the only type that writes for that company

10. Atlanta, “Teddy Perkins” (Season 2, Episode 6)
No way.
I’ll submit:
“Out of Gas” - Firefly
“The Constant” - Lost
“ Transilience Thought Unifier Model-11” - Fringe
“Make Love, Not War” - South Park
“My Screw Up” - Scrubs
“Dead Dogs and Gym Teachers” - Freaks and Geeks
Semi-joking (but also semi-serious) answer:
“Mystery Weekend” - Saved By the Bell

This is a great episode but yeah I'm not sure how you settle on this one.
Meh. That is the one we go back to quite a bit. I'm glad it has risen to #1, though. "Lisa needs Braces!", the whole riff with Burns doing his Khan impression of Captain Ahab. The union negotiation between Burns and Homer, Grandpa Simpson with his old strike-busting buddies telling stores that don't go anywhere. The song. Hell, I'll say it, it's the best Simpsons episode.
Now, the Sopranos episode they picked "College", instead of "Pine Barrens"? List is questionable because of that.

Out of Gas” - Firefly
I like Firefly but don’t obsess over it like some.
Was this the one that aired as the Pilot but was flipped to be later on or vice versa?

No. It’s the one where they are stranded in space (i.e. out of gas). Great episode of television.

No Futurama episode about Fry's dog? List is shite.

Pine Barrens was perhaps the greatest Sopranos episode.

I think The Train Job aired first, then they aired the actual pilot (where the crew gathers) Serenity.
Confusing for a story with generally threaded story lines.
FWIW, they did that to the greatest show of all time (Star Trek), airing Man Trap first (wanting a monster of the week to launch the show) and then Charlie X second. The second pilot (Where No Man Has Gone Before) did not air until Week 3.

Wouldnt you have to willingly and watch every episode of every series without bias to know the context to be able to judge every episode accurately?
Dumb lists are dumb.
Dumb lists are dumb.

The poll is retarded because it only allows for one episode of one show when there are multiple Top 100 greatest episodes of a single show. Like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, LOST, The Wire, and The Sopranos should probably have like five entries a piece on a Top 100 Episodes of all time list. There really should be around 30-40 series total on a Top 100 episodes list.

Yay!!! I’m so glad you’re back. I’ve so missed posts like this where you give your subjective opinion as definitive and unquestionable, objective fact.
Feel free to publish your own list, but 1 episode per series is how this particular publication chose to do this particular one. They know it’s subjective and not the official “100 Best TV Episodes of all Time.” I’m sure there are plenty of those out there if you want to find them and tell us all how retarded they are for whatever reasons you come up with each. Though, I think it all really just comes back to that they were made by people who are not you, and you are the only one in human history capable of actually getting these “right,”’as though that was even remotely possible.
I like the fact that they changed it up and only included 1 episode per series. It introduced me to series I’m not that familiar with, and I think which episode they chose from each series provides for an much more interesting discussion than the order and certainly more interesting than which and the order of the 25 Game of Thrones, Lost, and Breaking Bad episodes that would inevitably make up your list.
But again, so happy to have you back.

If that’s the one where he explains how it happened with the red and blue cards, I agree. I almost added that one to my list when I posted.

That one is I think "Vichnaya Pamyat". Which is actually the highest rated episode on IMDB. The one I like the best is the actual rescue episode where the firefighters are going in trying to stop it. Which in turn cost pretty much everyone that was there that day their lives. Firefighters, doctors, nurses, etc.
