I hope it's not. Even with the lack of Ted this season, I still enjoyed all the team shenanigans.

But Ted was still relatively present, which won't be the case going forward.

I think this is sadly true
It would not surprise me and I doubt it would be any good.
The finale was good. I enjoyed it. But it and the rest of the season would have benefited greatly if they had not wasted so much time on Keely and Jack, which did not add anything to the story. I would have rather have seen more of the big off-screen moments that they just glossed over. Who wouldn't want to see Ted tell Rebecca and the team that he is not returning? Who wouldn't want to see Nate's transformation and telling Rupert he is done, and Rupert's reaction. It's baffling that the writers thought that these things didn't need any screen time.

The episodes were already running pretty long.
They could have cut out the restaurant and gay story arch. It didn't add much to the show as a whole.

I thought it was cool that we got Beard’s first name…though we actually got it last season

Rewatching the 3rd season and I completely forgot that Higgins brought up the possibility of firing Ted.
That kinda got glossed over.

I’m now sad this thread is going to go away

Amen. We had a long season with long episodes yet had how long devoted to this Jack storyline and Keeleys PR company (which was completely removed from the FC as a whole)?
Just annoying largely irrelevant storyline, the fact that it was a lesbian storyline wasn’t even what made it so. It just adds to the narrative that it was only done to appease the SJW crowd because of how bad and forced it was

Every show now has to push a gay storyline super hard. No matter if it makes sense.

This show fell off in the 3rd season, didn’t even finish it I lost interest so quick.

TVLine: Did You Catch These 25+ Callbacks to Previous Episodes?
The two payoffs I wanted to see that they never revisited:
1. Nate never found out that the reason the photo he gave to Ted for Christmas wasn't in his office was because he kept it at home in his flat.
2. Speaking of Ted's apartment- the LEGO stadium that Henry built Ted only served as foreshadowing for Nate's return.

Between moves like that and running cover for Rupert's dalliances, he was a bit of a weasel.

They glossed over so much shite that I legit thought I had missed a few episodes. I thought this season was terrible and I’m glad it’s over before they ruin it even more.
No doubt they are going to do a spin-off even more focused on the social issues angle they started hammering this season and it’s going to bomb.

Yeah I really think they screwed up with who they decided to focus on this season. Keely is the big one almost all of her time should have gone to fleshing out Nate and Ted more.
I get the sense that Sudeikis didn't want the show to be about him which is absurd bc the show is about him.

I'm certainly not wild about how they got there, but I thought the ending was good. Regardless of whether they continue without Ted or make a spinoff this will be the series finale for me.

but I don't recall her being a terrible person.
She literally started dating their marriage counselor and then brought him to England
I do agree that this is terrible. However, there are plenty couples who do manage to get over this sort of thing, especially when they both want to be good parents. It's also not like they were together when she was dating the counselor. They were split up.
I think before Ted took the Richmond job, their marriage was not good. Ted thought it was because he just ignored everything bad in his life and pretended. But it was not good. I think the both learned a lot about themselves and have found a new start that will make for a better family than before.
Just because I didn't like what she did and didn't like her, doesn't mean this isn't the best decision for their family.

"The Richmond Way" was the title of the book and would be great for the continuing series.
I thought for sure the book would have been titled "Believe"

How different would have things been if Rebecca, being the decent person she is, consoled Rupert for being called a wanker by the fans of his childhood team?
I know Rupert didn’t deserve any redemption, but that had to hurt, and in perfect TL form, some compassion would have really driven home the pain.
That would have been miserable. Having him do a walk of shame while being called a wanker was perfect for him. Maybe it hits different, being a woman. But any compassion or redemption for Rupert would have absolutely ruined the whole show for me. He had to get his due for being such an a-hole.

This was a pretty uneven season. Rebecca and Roy/Jamie were easily the best story lines. Beard didn't really have much of a story, but he was good at what he does as usual. Same with Higgins.
Everything else was pretty meh. Keely/Jack was terrible. Rupert became cartoonish as a villain. The Nate story lines were terrible, he was either being an a-hole, which isn't really in his nature, or he was being his normal timid self, which really isn't entertaining without Ted to encourage and nurture him. If they wanted to go down this path they probably should have made Nate/Rupert a much more abusive relationship until Nate finally quit.
I still liked it overall, but they did not stick the landing after starting out so great.

The Nate/Rupert thing really made me feel like this was supposed to be a 4 season arc. As in NAte would have been coaching against Richmond in the finale and Rupert goes over the line shoving him down. Which would have been the reason Nate quits and season 4 could have been his redemption, instead of shoehorning all of it into this season.
