Yikes. I think Taran appeared in the most sketches last year out of every cast member.

Obviously one of the replacements will be a minority....funny or not. Never really heard of either of these guys...although I don't watch SNL anymore. It's been garbage to me for over 10 years now.

That is unfortunate. They are two of the best cast members at present.

After looking at their current cast, none of which I've ever heard of except Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, there's about four people from University of Southern Cal in their cast.

SNL has massively declined in quality. They are right to jump off that ship.

And its been that way for about 10+ years. Its like they went from clever/quirky to crude humor, celebrity and political jokes...which IDGAF about. I dont want to have to watch a bunch of movies and pay attention to useless celeb shite just to understand your skits.

This thread needs a "Leslie Jones" / "SNL sucks now" drinking game.

Fun fact: Taran is married to Cobie Smulders, robin from HIMYM.

Why is your first response to make a crack about minorities, apropos of nothing? Weird... and awkward. Bring that stuff to the Poli board.

That happened like 20+ years. You must've missed all their stuff on Bush, Perot, Clinton.

No politics or pop culture is kind of a narrow box for a comedy show.

I thought jay pharaoh was under utilized. Was excellent at impersonations.

SNL just needs to pull the plug. Going back to the end of the very original cast leaving, there had always been ebb and flow and return to greatness with new stars and/or Michael's return, but they've not refound themselves like they eventually did in the 1990s and 2000s with a good season or two..Lorne's a burnout..cast isn't superstar funny.

The 2010s have mostly s@cked sans some great hosts, skits, or very rare wall-to-wall great episodes.

Outside of a Kendrick Lamar, Courtney Barnett, Arcade Fire,etc..appearance..I don't tune in..especially in the Fall with Football games still going on. Just rewatch a hyped skit next day online.

You said it, brother. I read they may replace Pharoah with this guy.

I don't watch, but I decided to take a look at it, and their last consistent run seemed to be from 2005-2008 (meaning they didn't add any new cast in this period). Andy Samberg, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, and Jason Sudekis all joined in 2005, and no one since has really broken out like they have.
