First of all, how good of an actor do you think he is?

I honestly haven’t paid much attention to his actual acting prowess, but if you list a memorable scene, I’d like to go check it out!

Wasn't he in The Lords of Flatbush? It's been a long time since I saw that, but it was a younger Stallone who hadn't been stereotyped yet.

The scene in Creed where he visits Adrian's grave is pretty great work.

Best scene in the entire Rocky series is when Mickey visits his apt. to plead with him to be his manager.

Stallone is amazing, and so is Meredith. It's basically as good as anything Pacino or Deniro did in the decade.

Yeah, this should be sort of obvious.

Best of Stallone maybe period when he was trying to be an actor before superstardom stole him away.

This. All of this. Driving his rig through his ex father in laws gate to get his kid was the most riveting scene in film history. I laughed, I cried, I cheered.

Really good when he wanted to be. The material wasn't always up to snuff, but almost 100% of Rocky and First Blood were fantastic.

The "You're never going to hit as hard as life" speech in Balboa is pretty compelling. He had moments in other films, even the cheesier "franchise" films, losing Mick in Rocky III, the "If I can change..." bit from IV.

When he was "on" he was way closer to Brando than Schwarzenegger. At his best, as good as Mel Gibson or Bruce Willis, certainly, probably better. Comparable to Kurt Russell, but not as consistent, in ability. I think that covers his main competition (not Brando, obviously).

The dialogue was cheesy, but the acting was spot on for that scene. The movie, overall, just went too far (pardon the pun, "over the top"), but did so in a glorious fashion.
