Not sure if I heard this correctly on the finale preview, but are they reading the votes/announcing the winner on the island?

That would seem to indicate a tie vote, like they did when Dom/Wendell were tied and the third place person cast a tiebreaker vote.

agreed, but why would they give a possible tie away in the preview? I think they could do away with the "waiting to count the votes" at the live finale anyways.

Only thing that would be different is not having family there to celebrate with you after you win a million dollars. I guess they could technically bring some like they do with "loved ones", but that might be hard to do with 3 finalists.

Spinoff of this - I guess they are not doing any challenges with loved ones this year? Guess covid/quarantine brings a big obstacle into it, but not even letters or anything is weird.

Considering the loved ones would likely include Ricard’s pregnant husband, CBS is probably doing us a favor.

I doubt many will agree, but I think this has been a great season. For the most part, I really like all the players that made it to the jury stage. And I love what they’re doing for the final 3 days of sending them to a new island. Tomorrow night should be great.

I hope not. Those are the worst episodes. Sure, johnny fairplay and all but mostly, bad to cringe moments.

They had to quarantine the players for 2 weeks prior to filming. They were never going to do that for the loved ones. I was surprised there wasn't a zoom call or letters from home though.

I don't like Shan or Ricard, but can't deny they are both good players. Heather is just dead weight, but the rest of the post-merge cast has been good, and even some of the pre-merge players.

I've really enjoyed the whole cast outside of heather and the first two boots.

From Ricard’s bio:
quote:

Who is your hero and why? My husband, Andy. He has navigated through life after many setbacks, struggles and the tragic loss of a parent in a car accident. Andy focused on putting his physical comfort behind his and my desire for our family to grow and carried our children as a transgender man. I cannot think of a better human.

I agree with the comment about this being a good season. Some things didn’t work like that Last Chance deal or whatever it’s called where you give up your vote at tribal for a shot at immunity and the overly complicated advantages kind of flopped too. When you get down to it, the players are the ones who make the difference.

100% agree.

Would be fine with anyone winning other than old lady. Asian girl didn’t do much but managed to hang around and seems pretty smart at least.

All three guys have played well imo and are deserving.

It really just hasn't been THAT different than past seasons. The woke shite hasn't really been that bad either. The part I haven't liked is the weird times when they have Jeff talk to the camera and explain shite. I know they're trying to get a new audience, but still. Also, too many gimmicks - like the hourglass and the Monty Hall problem.

I REALLY want them to do a stripped down season, back to basics and also back to where food actually matters. In so many of the old seasons, the fatigue and hunger played a serious role.

This season is the least amount of food they've ever been given fwiw.

One big difference is a lot of the participants come in with better survival skills than those first couple of years. They are better at fire building which often prevented cooking the rice for example.

Bug spray and sunscreen have made a huge difference in the way they look by the end and probably reduce a lot of anxiety and irritation.

I'd bet on DeShawn. (PREDICTIONS... NOT SPOILERS!)

He's going to win immunity first tonight, and the tribe will split on Ricard and Xander (who will play his idol because he might as well) with Ricard going home.

Erika wins the final immunity challenge and of course takes Heather to the final tribal leaving DeShawn and Xander to make fire. DeShawn edges him out, then wins the final vote by a solid margin.

I predict for the next vote Ricard wins immunity, DeShawn finds the immunity idol or advantage and Xander plays his. Heather or Erika going home after initially getting no votes.
