She strictly was crowned because other tribesmen could not under any circumstances vote for the other(s) to win.

This is a little revisionist history. I think that thinking really only applies to her first season. She played a really good game in Hereos vs Villains, and maybe even a better game in her 3rd season. She got the short end of the stick of a tribe swap in the 3rd season she was on, or I think she might have won that season. I think she's still the only player to get a standing ovation from her tribe upon eviction.

She was really good at noticing friction between two people and fanning the flames of that friction.

She's far from my favorite to play the game, but I think she gets a bad rap mostly for her first season.

Sandra played a decent game in her second win, but clearly Russell should have won.

Russell didn't get a single vote. The social aspect is part of the game and he completely ignored that part of the game, and Sandra mopped the floor with him in that regard.

There was maybe some bitter jury that season when it came to Parvati, but Sandra was definitely deserving of that win. All 3 of them had a legitimate argument for the win. Arguably the best final 2 or 3 in the show's run.

I think Russell's game would be much better received in today's Survivor, but yeah, no one liked the guy.

As for this season... surprised that Ronnie couldn't sniff that out, but Elaine had him pegged from the first conversation as someone that couldn't be trusted.

And I don't know why Elizabeth lied about Island of the Idols... that's going to get outed the next time someone goes and then you've established yourself as someone who can't be trusted.

Yeah, not a smart move on her part.

Happy to see Elaine survive.

Everyone seemed to see right through Ronnie immediately.

Ronnie is a World Series of Poker guy. I'd never trust a poker player in this show.

Tom had a 10 year career in the NHL for the Rangers and Kings.

Elizabeth was a swimmer in the '08 and '12 Summer Olympics.

It's definitely quite diverse.

Couldn't figure that out either. I would have at least said I had to have a fire building contest for an advantage and lost or tell them it's more like the island of survivor idols and not immunity idols. But I did tell my wife, she's an olympic swimmer, she's going to take the challenge against Rob. No way she doesnt'.

Boston Rob's middle age look really stood out when they were showing old clips of him from 15 years ago.

She really had nothing to lose there. If the tribe turned on her while she was gone, her vote wouldn't matter. If her alliances stayed strong while she was gone, her vote wouldn't matter.

It turns out the second part was true, her name was never thrown out there, and her vote didn't matter.

I like this cast so far. Whoever does the casting should also do the casting for big brother.

I tuned in as Big Brother was ending and I wanted to see if they cast anyone that would give me any interest in watching Survivor. Only took a few minutes to know that I would not be watching.

This a dumb take when you look at the list of winners of this show. The list of winners is quite diverse as well.

Seems to be a promising cast, though maybe a bit too friendly to each other. Who's gonna backstab? Who's going to play a cut throat game? They already cut the one guy that showed promise in that regard. I'm sure the knives will come out in due time though.

When he waddles out on the beach to greet Elizabeth.

Man, he should have at least tried to get into shape for the shwo.
