Said the same to my wife. You know, I thought the advice thing from the "idols" was going to be real hookey, but it seems (at least this time) the advice was pretty solid. I was impressed.

Man, he should have at least tried to get into shape for the shwo.

I think he has 4 daughters. That probably takes a lot out of him.

Maybe spending 39 days (or however long they end up out there) is his diet plan?

I read that Rob and Sandra are out there living the same life as the contestants, minus the challenges and such, but they still had to build their own shelter, fish/forage for food, etc.

Why? I'm not saying you are wrong, but I don't really understand the point of that.

Also, I agree that it was a mistake for the girl to lie about the island. She kept saying knowledge is power, but she had no knowledge. Telling her tribe exactly what the island of idols is would have made way more sense. Now, when they find out she was lying, they won't trust that she isn't hiding an idol.

Her description of what it was was equally stupid.

But I think it's a damned if she does, damned if she doesn't scenario. If she told them the entire premise of the island, there would be some that likely question if she actually did receive an idol and use that against her.

From what I read, it was their decision.

Found the article... LINK /

quote:

And lest anyone think the two returning mentors had it easy, Probst assures us Rob and Sandra were suffering out in the elements just like the new players. “They’re living on their own island,” says Probst. “Rob built shelter, they’re cooking fish. I mean, it’s a full-on Survivor experience.

Not only that, but the host also reveals that the show offered to build a shelter for the returning winners — and was turned down. “To give credit to Rob and Sandra, when we called them, we said, ‘If you want, we’ll build you a shelter and you can live in it,” says Probst. “And they both said, ‘Oh, no, no, no. If we’re gonna talk the talk, then we have to walk the walk. The players have to see us living the way they’re living.’”

just getting caught up.

one thing that seemed fishy was the girl going to the island immediately recognized the statues as rob and sandra. if you have no clue that past players are going to be involved why would you immediately name those 2? Maybe i just didn't see that much of a resemblance in the statues.

I would have voted vince out just because he started crying at the first fricking tribal! What's he going to do when thing really get tough?

And that one chick just happened to be wearing a red sox hat?

I could see the resemblance and they are pretty well known. Not surprised she picked up on that.

This is a very diverse group this time. going to be interesting.

Don't think you're ever going to see those two back.

The Rob one was pretty obvious to me. I'm with you on Sandra though. It resembled her, but wasn't as obvious to me.

I thought the opposite. Sandra was obvious to me, but Rob just looked like some dude without the Red Sox hat.

Cast is terrible. Bunch of ugly ducklings.

Half of them already crying the first 3 days. You knew what it was going to be like. Dont go out there on the first few days with a huge personality. You will be targeted.

Every season

I'm guessing that the producer told her who they were and to act enthused. I watch Bachelor with my wife, and this reminded me of a common scene in that show. They'll go on a date, and at the end they walk into a concert hall with a bunch of people, and some minimally famous musician will play a song for them. They always react to seeing the musician as if it's their all-time favorite singer. It's obvious the producer wants them to pump up the act.

I had a similar thought process. Obviously they wouldn't want someone walking up and saying "what they hell are these statues and who are these people?"

the bachelor reference is spot on too. amazing that their "favorite artist" who is barely famous is there.
