Finally caught the premiere over the weekend. I've become such a damn softy as I've gotten older, especially since having kids. The scene where Reem and the other girl(Wendy, I think?) were teaching the guy to swim, and the rest of the tribe was watching and plotting against the 3 for forming a bond really bothered me. I know it's part of the game, and early on you look for any vulnerability in someone else to take advantage of, but that seemed like such a petty thing to single those 3 out for. Seemed to me just like a human moment, but I guess preying on others' weaknesses is also a human moment. I mentioned it during the show, and my daughter said she was thinking the same thing so maybe I'm raising good kids.

I also thought Reem's moving of people's clothes came from a good place. Yes, it would have annoyed me as well, and I think her overall attitude was a bigger issue for her, but that seemed pretty benign in the grand scheme of things.

Pretty standard premiere though. Nobody really stood out and it's going to take a few episodes to see who the contenders and the pretenders are. The Extinction island thing looks promising.

We made similar comments about them during the episode. Seemed to me that there had to be more to it. Were they done working for the day or did these 3 just drop everything to go for a swim? That could rub some the wrong way if so.

Also it probably had more to do with the 3 of them being somewhat social outcasts anyway, so them grouping together was a natural fit and the others were able to exclude them easily.

In case you've ever wondered how much goes on behind the cameras for these shows...

Good point. It's likely once again that the editing made a bigger story out of a benign incident.

TBO, I liked Reem's honesty and genuineness. I hope she gets back in the game.

I agree, if she would have shut her mouth during tribal, she wouldn't be where she is now.

Not sure if editing but the red head with the winter hat and stick in her mouth is starting to get on my nerves.

I'm ready for "Wardog" to go.

1. He's annoying and cocky as shite.
2. He calls himself Wardog.
3. His face is lopsided.

But, he did seemingly succesfully lobby to keep Kelley around.

The news dude annoys me.

Still barely know anything about Joe's tribe because he never loses.

I don't see them losing unless a puzzle gets the best of them

Well they got rid of their weakest member. Overall now, I would expect them to be on equal footing.

Yeah, I liked Keith, but it was a good move to get rid of him because they couldn't continue to lose and go into a swap or something outnumbered all around.

I think that means a lot less in current Survivor than in the earlier years, but it's still worth something to have the numbers at a swap/merge.

Part of me hopes there is no swap and these tribes go at it until there is a merge, and if that means one tribe is still at 8 or 9 and the other one is down to 2 or 3, so be it. I only remember that happening once, and I thought it made for a really good season.

He thinks he is in control. No one is going to follow him from what I have seen so far.

It still blows me away that people go on that show that can't swim!

First off, it's the 21st century, who can't swim? Parents, make damn sure your kids can swim. I don't care what color you are. It could save their life.

Secondly, if you're not a good swimmer, the second you find out your made it on the show, hire a swim coach and carry your lead filled arse to the pool!

Such a simple way to prevent yourself from looking like the weakest link.
