Yeah, after "big band theory" smoked the slide puzzle I thought he would help pull it out. Definitely closed the gap after ole boy could dig a hole in the sand to save his life. Not that I would do any better.

I find it hard to believe there were no cameras that show how that guy got hurt in the boat.

They probably do their best to never record the contestants using any type of modern amenities like boats (unless it is a reward). Also, it looked like you could catch a glimpse of a town or city in the background at the location where they stopped to medevac the hurt guy.

Before last night, I thought they actually hiked to the challenge location. Silly me.

This show used to be a lot more rustic.

Yeah, they are ordered not to speak when they are being transported too. So essentially the game is paused when they are being transported.

They are driven to tribal council now too.

That really sucked for him. I'm such a damn softy since my daughter was born I was fighting back tears for him. I hope they give him another chance to play in a future season.

Seems like this might be a decent season. That black lady on Goliath is awful. I hope she sticks around a while though. She'll bring some good drama. That public defender whose mom OD'd is also awful. But he won't be good for drama so I hope he goes soon.

Seriously lacking in the female eye candy department.

It was legit scary. You can tell he was in so much pain he barely knew where he was. I was afraid he may have been paralyzed with how stiff his arms were.

That is weak.

I always figured that the actual "survivor" part of the game is basically just a weak facade now.

It's definitely not like the early days, where they were trying to find the most exotic locales possible. Australia and Africa were brutal.

There are definitely still hardships. They mess around with the food allocation, a few recent seasons they haven't even given them rice to start. There were a couple of seasons where they ran out of food and they had to barter their rewards with Jeff to get rice.

The nature element is still real too with weather and bugs. In Kaoh Rong almost the entire Brains tribe got horrible infections. One of the girls who was voted off early would have been medevaced had she stayed longer, she had to have a huge abcess removed from her back.

Oh wow. I'll retract my previous statement then.

I dislocated a few vertebrae in my lower back a few years ago, the pain was unbearable. I could barely move, and if I ever got to a spot where the pain subsided I wouldn't want to move.

I had to go through a good bit of physical therapy, and at one point I was doing the exercises, and they "popped" back into place... the relief was one of the best feelings of my life.

So yeah, I felt for the guy.

Good chance he was headed home that night anyway, but still sucks to go out on an injury.

The older black lady on the Goliath tribe is going to be out soon as well. Maybe it was just the edit, but she was obnoxious.

I’ve had back problems since age 10, and I’ve had bouts like that where I had to crawl to bed. Then if I get out of that one pain-free position you find, I’d be flipping around like a fish out of water trying to find that position again. But even that didn’t seem as bad as what that poor guy was suffering. I thought he was going into seizures.

yeah that dude was in some serious pain ! now , the rest of the tribe gets to enjoy the shelter he designed without him .

the name still doesn't fit. It should be like cool kids vs misfits.

The older black lady will go,home soon. So with the lazy kid who brags about getting out of work.

I agree on the name issue this season. I understand that 37 seasons in that it's hard to be original, but this name just doesn't fit for me. Especially with the logo being a small man vs a giant

It's almost more of an economic battle of poor vs privileged.

I read an article where Jeff said they have been transporting players to challenges for years because of the remote locations, but nothing of note ever happens so they don't show it. This was just a freak accident. Think about it, many of the challenges take place a half mile or more out into the middle of the ocean. When Jeff says "grab your stuff and head back to camp," and they all jump into the water and start swimming, I never believed for a second that they make them swim back to camp.

Yeah, I can remember saying something like that to my wife over the past few seasons. A challenge will appear to be a half a mile off the beach, and they just start swimming back. There's no way they would make them do that, just for liability purposes.

In regards to the name of the season, I feel like it's something they don't need to do. I don't know if they are gaining new viewers with their themes. People that are still watching will watch regardless of the theme. There's no need to shoehorn something in there and ask the players to mention some nonsense in all of their early interviews about how their team fits their title. It's also pointless because 75% of the show will not have this separation.

that's another thing I've commented on every year. The first split/realignment seems to happen within the first week of a 39 day stay. Doesn't seem long enough for me.

As for naming the show, it also sells merch when you attach a unique name to the season. As for viewership, I doubt it has any impact at all. Most of the time when it gets to the end they have changed tribes 3 times and I don't remember or care where they started.

With those made up names, does anyone remember who was on what tribe by tribe name? I just remember them by, "He was an original purple tribe member and she was on the green tribe."

really enjoyed the blonde getting blindsided. I was ready for the purple haired chick to go home until the blonde opened her mouth. she actually seemed out of place on this tribe. seemed like she was used to getting by on her looks. she had that smug grin on her face until the 3rd vote against her.

And the oriental chick ranting about competing and being strong or whatever and she failed miserably during that challenge. And what is that hole in her neck?
