Back at it... being called the "open era" which supposedly means every twist we've seen in the past 50 seasons could be in play. I don't know if I like that or hate it... probably like it more than the rather formulaic last round of seasons, but I'd still rather it go back old school.
21 all new players starting on 3 tribes...

I hope that young kid that volunteered to go away on his own gets some sort of advantage or immunity Idol waiting for him. I still think that dude that got kicked off last year because of Jimmy Fallon’s stupidity would get a chance to come back and play again. I forgot his name. I think he wore glasses.

These cable shows cast such terrible fricking losers now. They def have to check the box and by the time they fill out a cast only 20% is good.

Go watch an old episode, it's shocking how many attractive, athletic people used to be cast when you compare it to the current show.

It makes no sense. They cast the ugliest nerdy losers with no redeeming qualities to check a box. I don't get why they do this. You have a great IP and show and you continue to go against the grain to prove what?
Everything that was once good gets ruined by today's society. It will never stop until people just stop watching. Make your own show if you want to continue to do this.

Well it was a good run.
0% interest after this opener. I was somewhat late on survivor, but after watching 20+ seasons, this was by far the worst opener and weakest cast I’ve seen.
Im a glutton for punishment, so obviously ill watch next week. Maybe they’ll prove me wrong.

The less attractive the women get the harder it is to watch. 21 players is to much in 26 days.

It was disappointing to see the 5 black survivors form a race-based alliance within minutes of hitting the beach. Follow that up with the girl alliance at the end of the episode complaining because a guy was aggressive in the immunity challenge.
The two legal broads (Pantsless Patt? Dark hair woman with blue eyes?) are the eye candy this season…maybe Vietnamese med school girl. I guess I’m cheering for the guy who works for the NY Yankees for now because he seems kind of normal. Two farmers in the cast too - interesting.

Yeah that was so obvious. The blacks immediately found each other and will use their race to trump anything that could happen during the game.
Aaliyah was super slow getting the balls out of the net, but if anyone stepped up and said “Hey what about voting Aaliyah” then immediately the black caucus would put a target on that person. Laughable.
Your best physical player, Brody is all of a sudden on the chopping block because he be too aggressive. Laughable.
And then Jenna is at the forefront of everyone’s mind because one dude randomly thought she was lying about her job. Laughable.
I guess I will be hate watching this season

This cast sucks.. there's always a few oddballs and diversity quota picks but they went overboard.
Funny how in the first episode we had a black alliance then a woman alliance and of course one of the women went home because she couldn't just shut up.
You know you're not the target, just shut up and go with the plan.
I do guess it would be tough when you're out there.. you want to talk to people and build relationships.. same reason every season people blab about their idols or advantages.
At this point I want Jenna to rebound and win it all.

My hope would be that if the losing tribe from last night loses again, they would vote off the black guy who made up the story about the girl "lying" about her job.
He runs his mouth too much and is trying too hard to run the game too early. Maybe they will take notice and get rid of him just because he won't shut up.

And even in the early seasons the show had some diversity... moreso than now in terms of age. More importantly they were normal people who were relatable and at least a little interesting. 75% of this cast seems more like a character than a person.
