Carolyn/Yam/Lauren.. assuming they have 3 finalists. Yam will win

only missed with the heidi/lauren guess.

One of the best recent seasons.

Yam got way too much air time not to be the winner. I thought Carolyn would get a vote or 2.

I haven't watched the reunion but, i'm just guessing lauren voted for heidi?

enough of the " people who look like me and sound like me" nonsense. survivor has a more "diverse" group of winners than any other "reality" show.

Danny voted Heidi. All new era seasons have had a 7-1-0 winner.

Thanks. I kind of want to watch the reunion. more just to see what they look like cleaned up.

But, i usually get annoyed.

I did laugh at some of the jury members criticizing the finalists' game play. I mean, they're in the finals, you're on the jury. stfu

They don’t do a full reunion anymore if you weren’t aware. Just a semi recap right after the votes were read.

I did enjoy Jamie getting told about her idol though lol

That was great. I forget the contestants haven’t watched the episodes and are still clueless about what actually happened. Got a kick out of Carolyn’s incredulous response to Carson working for NASA.

I assume they do the reunion right after because it saves a lot of money compared to a studio show, but I really miss the studio show. My wife and I rattled off a lot of things that would've been nice to see; an update on the couple after months in real life, hearing from contestants after watching the show and knowing how things actually happened, an update from the concussion guy (although I see he's in the new season), and a few others. Having said all that, it was fun seeing Jamie learn about the fake idol live.

I am fine with Yam Yam winning, much better option than Heidi, but I'm so ticked that she got second place because of bitter Danny over Carolyn.

Heidi literally had no idea what was going on for almost the entire season, she botched the final six vote big-time, she was not a strategic force at all. It just annoys me that she got second place of Carolyn and it takes away from the finale for me.

Yam Yam is a pretty good winner, combining social skills and strategy. 42-44, at least I understand why the winner won. I still, even after exit press and to this day, cannot figure out why Erika possibly won. It just still doesn't compute.

hearing from contestants after watching the show and knowing how things actually happened,

Probst’s podcast that was posted last night has phone interviews with each of the Final 3. They go in order of votes received so I’ve only heard YamYam and Heidi but he asked both about how it felt to see yourself. Yam’s interview was pretty good and he said his favorite times were the time he got to hang out with Carolyn and any arguing or drama between them was planned. He kept referring to the other contestants as “friends” and seems like a genuinely nice guy.

Heidi was still trying to justify her gameplay as an intentional strategy from Day 1.

I’m looking forward to hearing from Carolyn.

Heidi seems like a nice woman but she was just delusional in how she viewed herself. She was a complete non-factor this season besides during the first Soka vote.

I think, in general, final three people need to bring up the pre-merge more. Carolyn's argument could have been strengthened big time if she talks about how she had Yam Yam's fate in her hands and if she wanted to vote out Yam Yam with Josh instead of Sarah, she easily could have. And she also left Yam Yam out of that vote.

I didn’t take Danny as bitter at all. He just voted for his friend and ally.

Agreed. I usually hate when people vote for their friend instead of the best player, but this one didn't bother me too much for some reason. I thought Heidi was a clear third, I hate when people use hard work as a reason to win the game, and her use of life outside the game is a weak argument too, but I did gain a ton of respect for her in putting it on herself to take out the favorite to win the game.

They started doing it right after because when they returned for Season 41 they had to keep all contestants and production staff quarantined due to COVID.

They also went to 28-day seasons and because both of those changes lead to cheaper production I highly doubt either goes in reverse.

He obviously really liked her move to send herself in to make fire.

But it was such an obvious move for her to make, of course she had to do it, there was nothing special about it. She had been completely out of the loop for most of the merge, randomly voted for Danny, mis-played her idol. She had nothing to talk about at the F3 before that move. She had to do it.

She thought she had to, but not really. She probably ends up in the same position regardless because of all the reasons you listed.

I am not a fan of the fire making at final 4 for that reason. The final immunity winner, unless they have dominated all season, has pressure to throw themselves in rather than give a competitor another resumé moment.

Completely agree. Firemaking challenge is annoying, and frequently leads to truly elite players not making FTC (Jesse comes to mind, also Rick Devens in EoE). Carson right there in that group...he may have played a perfect game otherwise as I bet he would've been voted winner unanimously. Regardless, he spends all that time on 3D printing but didn't practice making fire? Probably wouldn't have mattered as Heidi made the fastest fire ever, but still.

Heidi winning would have been such a sham, and she was really trying to sell for pity votes

Absolutely. I was really over the whole "strong Hispanic woman" and "be an inspiration" thing. That's got nothing to do with the game of Survivor. It was just all she could think of to make her case.

Sometimes Carolyn did more to help Yam Yam's case than her own.

People like Brandon, Lauren, and Danny were never going to give her a vote despite her play to get Danny out.

I think that's correct. If she had teamed with Heidi and Lauren at the end, Lauren probably would have won. Her only play to make it to the end was to get Lauren out.

I mean Carson said he could do it well at home. I think he did practice but maybe it's just one of those things he couldn't do. At the challenge, he actually made it really fast. Heidi set the record. Carson probably would have won quite a few fire challenges against other people.

And even though there was a pretty diverse group out there, there was not a single thing that was racist, homophobic, etc. This bunch mostly got along.
