Any comic book guy knows DC is supposed to be darker than marvel and they hired the guy who made guardians of the galaxay...I rest my case

Yeah that is a no. DC is traditional more colorful and fun. It's why people were pissed with Snyder's Superman movie.

TBF, if it’s a quick, goofy, meaningless reference… it can be humorous. Say it & forget about it.
But if there’s anything more to it than that… yikes.

Screw it, they asked for this.

Given how the trailers have focused on the cutesy Krypto interaction, I completely agree. Having a derogatory statement as a plot point would remove parents with children, who Krypto appeals to the most, completely from the mix.
ETA: This plot point wouldn't stop me from seeing the movie, but it would definitely be the difference between potentially seeing it in the theater with my family or waiting on it to hit Max and watching it alone.

I'd say there's time to cut things out, but damn... July 11 is coming up fast.

You yourself posting that meme is among the greatest ironies and hypocrisies on this board.

Like Supes should be , I’m not bothered by the board’s opinions.

I really want to like this movie but have got a bad feeling that it’s gonna just be not good.

Gunn is the antithesis of everything that makes Superman special. Him claiming he’s ‘cracked the code’…That should be a red flag right away. It’s not that complicated. But for someone like Gunn, the essence of Superman is foreign to him. He’s trying to convince himself & fans he’s got it, but I highly doubt it.

Ive never melted over a movie coming out. If i dont think ill like something i just don't watch it. If you really think its hypocrisy surely you can find one example of me melting over how horrible a movie being announced or released is.
It's SEK and Madking and Philzilla that claim every new movie/show that comes is the worst thing to ever happen
They have been melting over this new Marvel movie coming out and this superman movie all day. And SEK just bumped his Harry Potter melt thread as well.
oh and let's not forget complaining about the new seasons of the last of us and Andor
The last thing im gonna do is show up in a thread for a show im not watching and start shitting on it

Awe you’re lying again. Sad that this is your only tactic.

Haha. No. Just pointing out poor choices by studio’s & explaining why they’re terrible.

Because we’re tired of being lectured to by agenda driven Hollywood who refuse to simply honor the source material.
And by bumped, you really mean added context with updated information?
Yes. I did.
Cry harder.

I worked on this film (for both main and most of the second units for Georgia) - it's how I knew the original score was returning (which I revealed in the OG Superman thread last summer). I've worked on two James Gunn films and he has the composer write the scores in advance and often plays the tracks while shooting pivotal scenes. I also personally like Gunn. I've enjoyed his productions and working for him. He really is a decent dude, at least when it comes to being on set with him, and I've been in the industry for nearly ten years and can't say that for most directors.
All that being said, I've never been a fan of his films. I couldn't get into Guardians and didn't care for Suicide Squad either (which I also worked on).
There is going to be some downright cringe bullshite in this film. Some of the dialogue is Nickelodeon level bad at times. I have not seen the final cut and only know what I saw shot IN GEORGIA before production moved to Ohio and and what I read from the sides. But overall, it's going to be an entertaining and "fun" film. I think people should give it a chance. I mean, you knew with Gunn at the helm, you were getting Deep Blue Sea instead of Jaws.
Yeah, it could turn out to be dog shite but I truly do think it's going to surprise some of the people melting down over some of these Gunn-esque scenes being leaked.

This is what pisses me off. The Dark Knight trilogy was so successful because it was the latter
