Some of us just want a stand alone Superman movie and Gunn has said it won’t be a world building movie. That trailer didn’t nothing to show that. There’s just way too much stuff going on.

The tone of the trailer did not match some of the goofy looking visuals.

If this is Silver Age Superman, he probably has super hair powers.

They gave him a new power every third comic only to forget it existed immediately afterwards.

That was pretty fricking underwhelming. Damn. I was pretty excited for this but it just…looks bad? There’s a lot happening (Green annd Red Lanterns?, robots, aliens annd monsters and hawkgirl and Lex) and it all just looks horrible. The colors and CGi. It looks like it was made with AI or some shite.

The movie doesn't come out for what, seven or eight months? Slow down

The most troublesome thing in that trailer is Guy Gardner's haircut.
They could've gone comic accurate and given him the Simple Jack cut.

That's the whole point of the Guy Gardner character

This is a piece from an article from 2019:
quote:

You never know what you're going to get with Guy. He can be an unbelievable tool, like the time he groped Mary Marvel or considered forcing himself onto an unconscious Power Girl. Or when he mooned Batman. Also, that haircut.

But Gardner can also show a caring side to his nature. He always has his friends back and has repeatedly proven his commitment to protecting innocents. Furthermore, Guy really doesn't like it when you litter. Because of his unpredictable nature, it's always fun to see Gardner on one of his adventures, not knowing when he will be risking his life to save humanity or getting into a drunken fistfight with Lobo over a game of cards.

I think they almost did but ended up with "the Moe".

Not sure about Krypto being there, but yeah, loved everything I saw there. Nicolas Hoult looks pretty much perfect as Luthor.

Gunn's movies are fun so I have no doubt I'll enjoy this. I just don’t really care for all the additional superheroes he's throwing into it. It feels like going a bit overboard.

One problem I saw was that it looked like his suit was made for Cavill but had someone 30 lbs lighter fill it. You saw how ill-fitted it was when he was laying in snow. Don't know if I am a fan of the suit or trailer.

I will still watch it, but feels like they're doing too much in a Superman origin flick. We're getting Mr. Terrific, a Green Lantern, Hawkgirl. Then for the villains there is Lex Luthor along with whoever the other guy is.

I wasn't aware that CW was known for their parodies?

I would've been perfectly fine if they hadn't tried to make Guy Gardner's hair comic accurate.

Hell, even DC got away from that hairstyle.

It'll be Interesting to see if this moves the needle with general audiences. This is anecdotal, but I sent this to my wife and brother and they both replied with 'that looks stupid.'

I mean, it looks like how a Superman movie should look. It definitely looks like he got Lex and Lois right as well, which I don’t think any of the live action Superman movies have pulled off. They look exactly how they should look.

I'm somewhat optimistic, but I'll never forgive how they fricked over Henry Cavill
