I'm sure it's fun, and most will enjoy it. But over time people will start nitpicking it. It feels like Gunn is setting up the universe more than just focusing on making a true Superman film.

It makes for an entertaining popcorn movie. Nothing more, nothing less

Yeah just finished his review. You can tell he kind of hated this movie. He basically said Gunn tried to shoehorn humor in every scene
I dont think he hated it. I think he was disappointed in it.
It sounds like there is a hell of a movie in there that is weighed down by unnecessary shite.

Is he trying to tank the movie?
No more than the director and his nepo brother saying it loud and proud in Variety.

Jeremy Jahns is my go-to critic. He confirmed everything I feared and suspected about this film.

‘Solid cast & some great visuals’ is the general consensus I’m getting.
But… it’s a bit of a mess, story wise.

Well Gunn can only make the one movie. Everything he makes is exactly the same so let’s hope it works here.

There’s more self insert energy in this movie by Gunn than I ever imagined.
He’s really holding a grudge for those old “jokes“ getting out and temporarily ruining his career at Marvel.

The trailers and their promotion has been a complete disorganized tire fire, so I wouldn't be shocked if the movie played the same way.
I'm waiting a couple weeks for actual fans to see it and not fanboy media who would do anything to get an early screening.

I may be in the minority, but if they’re going the CU route, this seems like a good thing.

Gunn is an insane, narcissist. That can be a positive for a creative but for someone in charge of a studio that’s probably not a great thing.

Main issues were: Typical misplaced Gunn humor stepping on emotional moments Overstuffed plot and underutilized characters Not enough Clark Kent Said if you are worried about James Gunn doing Superman, you're right. If you're excited about James Gunn injecting a GOTG vibe into Superman, you're right.
That’s what most of us have been saying since the first trailer. There’s a heck of a lot going on in this movie and it’s not your typical Superman vibe. Every review seems to be striking at the “it’s a little bloated” narrative.

Madking,
What behavior does he exhibit that makes you think he is insane? Please don't use his position on politics

Well he called The Flash the greatest super hero movie ever made, he lies constantly, he inserts himself into everything, steps on his actors spots and yes, when you attack your own fanbase you’re not right in the head.

So, not as good as The Suicide Squad.

Great news. We need it to make money. I hope it’s also good though. Reviews haven’t really meant much for me lately.

Heading to see it in an hour.
85% is incredibly encouraging

Not always bad. Peacemaker and Elba Suicide Squad were a mess, but fun

Let us know what you think!
I have a feeling some people are going to post scathing reviews, irrespective, to own the wokies.
And also some are going to post glowing reviews to own the anti-wokies.
Going to be a time sifting through the useless reviews to get at something real.

Kind of makes me worry about this film
Is it possible he just had a nostalgia boner after seeing Keaton in the suit again?
