She's also not wrong that there's almost always a ton of scrutiny for the women taking roles in the either the MCU or DC. And the expectation of how they should look.
Link? No woman has ever faced a quarter of the amount or scrutiny that male actors like Heath Ledger got for being cast as Joker or Pattison as Bruce Wayne or Tom Hardy as Bane or Eisenburg as Luthor or Cornsweat as Superman, etc.
So yeah, she's completely wrong and dumb but unsurprising given how every entitled narcissistic actress in Hollywood loves the validation that comes along with playing victim.

Care to elaborate on such scrutiny?
Go back and read up on what folks said about short Michael Keaton (5' 9") as Batman.
"The Mr. Mom guy?" He turned in a great performance.
Comic Book Bruce Wayne - 6'2"
Adam West - 6' 2"
Ben Affleck - 6' 2"
Christian Bale - 6'

She might want to ask Brie Larson how that worked out for her.

You mean the expectation that they should look hot? The expectation an actor in a visual medium representing an idealized version of perfection should be attractive? That expectation? So patriarchily oppressive!
I'm sure if Steve Buscemi would have been cast as Thor, or the romantic lead in The Notebook, women would be swooning the world over.

face backlash by "simply existing as a woman“
Pfft. I didn't take issue with Helen Slater as Supergirl in 1984, even if the movie itself was shite.

Call me a simpleton, but I don’t even know what that fricking means.
Never in my life have I looked at an actress in a movie and thought “I have ownership of her body”

If she’s talking about fans, getting excited for the movie, probably not gonna happen now
Or is sh talking about the studios?
Because if you’re a player on a professional team or an actor in the movie, I can see where that would translate into you feeling like you are partially owned. But yes, she’s not making much sense which is why she’s drawing so much negative attention where she could’ve just kept her mouth shut.

Still giving the edge to Melissa Benoist.
But yeah, Millie looks like the JV squad in comparison.

Yes definitely agree. It's hard to describe but her features are all just slightly off. Individually they don't seem that extreme but you add them all together and there's just something really weird about her look.

I think she looks a bit like a child

She looks like she’d be Will Poulter‘s kid sister.

I'm not connecting the dots. It was such an odd reply. It's almost like she heard the question, thought it was stupid, and tried to give a rambling non-answer that also came out stupid.
