I thought the movie started off strong even though the intros ran a tad too long.

Problem was the movie kept on getting cornier as it went on. Became too yuck-yuck.

Still, I enjoyed it. I guess I should have seen Batman v Superman first since they made a reference to it. I don't know if Superman is dead it if he just left.

I thought Joel Kinnaman did the best job.

Saw it earlier today. I loved it. It was fun and very entertaining. Y'all have to quit expecting these movies to be Citizen Kane cause you'll always be disappointed.

I'm not expecting a masterpiece but this was crock of shite.

1. Why is Amanda Waller not in prison at the end of this film? shite, she should be on death row. The only reason the team is deployed is because her plan backfired massively and Enchantress killed dozens, if not hundreds. If Enchantress had no ties to the squad, sure, but Waller literally showcased her like a toy.

2. I love Jared Leto, I'm a huge fan of his but he got Joker so wrong it isn't funny. Joker has NEVER had that much care or compassion for Harley. All I got from each scene of his was him trying his best to not replicate Ledger while also replicating Ledger.

3. If you're going to call this movie, "Suicide Squad", don't just focus on two of them. I had absolutely no interest in Killer Croc, Captain Boomerang, or El Diablo.

4. What is this togetherness bullshite at the end of the film? Deadshot, Harley, and Croc would have killed each other off at the drop of a pen.

5. Harley's selective craziness. This killed me, you've got Harley who is legit batshit insane turning it off at certain moments when the film needs her to a la the bar scene where she becomes team doctor. Also, she has absolutely no care or concern for anyone or anything besides Joker.

6. What's the point of the mid credit scene with Wayne and Waller? Wayne discovered the Justice League in BvS. Why in the name of god is he even sitting down with Waller? Batman should be bringing her arse to justice.

Wut? I mean physically, yea she was great. As for her persona, just lol. I mean she did okay in the beginning but at the end becoming all buddy buddy with them, just no.

Harley does easily get buddy-buddy with people. Poison Ivy for god's sake.

so you're a comic book reader that wanted the movie to be a duplicate of the comics, I get it. movies and comics are allowed to be different fwiw

glad I've never read a comic so I could enjoy the movie

I wanted you all to be wrong. I went see it last night. It wasn't very good in terms of superhero movies. And to reiterate what has been said, the CGI was shite. The friggin scenes with Enchantress reminded me of The Scorpion King movies with The Rock . Just bad.

Best part was Will Smith. His little quips between he and the other characters were pretty funny.

The intros to each character ran very long. But throughout the movie you didn't give a shite about anyone because it didn't seem like they focused on them as a "squad". It's just Deadshot and Harley Quinn.

Oh and whoever that black lady actress is, she was absolutely horrid every time she was on screen. As was the SEAL team leader.

The Joker unfortunately wasn't on the screen nearly enough, but I had no problems with him at all. Very intrigued by Leto's fresh take on the character.

I'm not a comic book reader at all. Don't know why the entire thing revolved around Enchantress. Watching her wave her arms around all the smoke and debris every time she was on screen just made me think of a cheesy video game boss fight .

This gets 4/10 for me. Very, very weak. Batman v. Superman is light years better than this film.

I meant to ask earlier, but does anyone have any idea what this "machine" enchantress was creating? Never explained it

Maybe the comic guys know. They didn't explain much of anything really.

As if anyone needs another opinion on this movie but I am giving mine. I will try to address some of the points that people are complaining about.

The Villain - While the villain is not the greatest villain of all time, it is no worse than the main villain from the Avengers movies or even Deadpool. At Least this villain had a face and an actor tied to it. I am not sure what the problem with the villain was other than the fact that it looked kinda goofy while dancing. I don't really mind the henchmen fodder because that is even every movie/tv show.

The Plot - The plot was very simple. A meta human showed up causing trouble and Waller deploys a meta human to stop it but things go sideways and plan b has to be enacted. Plan B goes about as good as it can with Deadshot keeping the other members in line. He is and always was motivated by his daughter. he is says that he is doing this so his daughter won't think her dad ia a piece of shite. Along the way the squad has ups and downs but it was fun ride with them.

CGI - CGI could have looked a bit better with the Villain but who cares. THe CGI looked fantastic in BVS but it did not help the movie in any way.

The Joker - He exists in the movie for one purpose and that is to get Harley back. I wish they could have used him more but it was very clear why he was in the movie. He is driven to get her back. We have no idea what would happen if he did but I am sure its not the scene Harley imagined toward the end. Leto was fantastic as the psycho/serial killer joker. I cannot wait for him to be in the batman movie.

The only negatives I came away with was underuse of a couple of characters. It was really the Flag, Deadshot, & Harley show. Katana, boomerang, or croc did not really bring much to the table. Slipnot was just there to show off the bomb in their head is real.

I challenge anyone who talks about bad editing to point out what is exactly is a "bad edit" in this movie

It was a fun summer movie and I give it an 8/10 and i will see it again soon.

Everything felt extremely rushed IMO. To each his own but 8/10 is laughable to me.

I liked it. Nice introduction to the bad guys for future movies. Assuming some will return for other DC movies.

Too much fricking music though. Seems like every time one song ended that there was a 30 second interval until another one played.

Question: is Amanda Waller bad or good? She put this group of criminals together to do work around Gotham then provides Batman the folder if other metahuman and asks for his help.

After seeing it the second time, I'm agreeing with those that say that Waller is the actual villain in this movie. I've got no problem with that, the movie actually worked better for me when I had that in mind as an option.

In this incarnation she's definitely bad. She's had her moments in the comics and they gave her a sort of reformation at the end of her life in the JLU animated series. But in this movie she was bad.

Box Office: 'Suicide Squad' Opens to Big $135M But Drops Sharply Saturday.

David Ayer's Suicide Squad may have opened to an August-best $135.1 million at the North American box office, but bad reviews and so-so audience reaction are already taking their toll.

After pulling in an impressive $65.1 million on Friday, it looked like the Warner Bros.' tentpole, playing in 4,255 theaters, would debut to $145 million-$150 million. But traffic slowed dramatically throughout Saturday, or 41 percent day-over-day, a far steeper drop than other successful superhero movies

I don't know if it changed but at one point it sounded like she had a jersey accent.
