Very disappointing if true. I had hope the reshoots were routine but sounds like some meddling has been done. I'd rather have a smaller film where Ayer could deliver us his cut. Total insanity to make a suicide squad movie at the cost people are saying.

I'm so hoping that David Ayer gets to release a directors cut.
DC now stands for "Director's Cut."

Yea, I think it can do $600-$700 million. And yes, I don't care what anyone says, it will make a profit if it makes that much.
DC's problem is not whether it makes a profit, it's how much of one.

Shouldn't be much of a shock anymore. It's better off to assume the worst that way you won't be disappointed.

Yea, I think everyone is in agreement about one thing, whatever is happening on the cutting room floor with these movies is just astonishing. How could both of these movies fail this badly in the editing process?

If they had stayed the course and gone with Ayer's dark drama they'd still be under fire. People would have a different argument, but they'd still be pissed at Warner for making another dark superhero movie.

I don't even think DC knows what it wants to be right now.

Naaa, because this time the dark movie would have made much more sense. And I trust Ayers with that kind of tone way more than Snyder.

That said, I'm not going to celebrate its bad reviews. I want people to get the movies they want. The world is big enough, and there's enough cash out there, for every market to get films aimed at them. I genuinely want DC fans to have a good movie to enjoy.
This.
On the other hand, the only way I get a decent Dick Grayson film is to burn this one to the ground?
Who am I kidding, I'm never getting that film. We'll get BruceBats #712 before we sniff a real Nightwing/Grayson outing.

Dick Grayson will never have a solo film. Just the way it is. The character has not been that popular since the 80s, hence why he was almost killed in Infinite Crisis and they completely changed his character during New 52.
Nightwing is an amazing character, always been a favorite. But he works best in the Titans.

Like I said before, SS and BvS were completed before all of this "DC needs to change" stuff started happening. I think they saw the final cut of BvS and were like "This is not going to work". Then they tried to salvage by cutting and made it worse than before. Then with SS, they decided to reshoot some stuff, recut, and made it worse than before. Who knows what the frick we'll see with WW.

I disagree with the lack of popularity. In comparison to a Superman or Batman, sure. But he's in the 2nd or 3rd tier easily. I'd argue more people know who Dick Grayson is than Hal Jordan - in mass culture at least.
But his stories are often just better, and his character as a whole - allowed to grow over time - has a great narrative.

That's because too many writers keep him under the Bat-shadow. In Titans, he is given a little more autonomy.

Chris Nolan was the best and worst thing that ever happened to WB/DC. The trilogy was so successful that they tried that same approach with Superman, to mixed reviews. (I personally liked MOS, btw). I think they wanted their universe to be grounded at first, now they're panicking and trying to make them more like Marvel films.

They have 11,000 signatures on a change.org petition to have rotten tomatoes shut down.
Nevermind that metacritic has it 44%... Womp womp.

It blows my mind that people still think rotten tomatoes has anything to do with these reviews. It is just a website that tallies up various reviews from critics. You get rid of rotten tomatoes and all those bad reviews are still out there at their respective sites.
