Sugar (Apple TV) starring Colin Farrell, Season 2 starts Fri 6/19

Sugar starring Colin Farrell is back for Season 2 at the end of next week. 
For those who didn't see Season 1, John Sugar (Colin Farrell) is a PI hired by a movie producer to find his missing granddaughter. She is apparently a junkie or ex-junkie, so her own parents seem unconcerned about her disappearance.
The style of this show is very noir. Sugar drives a gorgeous Nassau Blue C2 Corvette convertible, which is practically a co-star.
Things get weird by the end of the season. In the Season 1 thread some people were eager for Season 2 and some were indifferent, not impressed by what is discovered near the end of Season 1.
If you haven't seen the show, it's a quick binge to get ready for Season 2 next week.
Season 2 features Tony Dalton (AKA "Lalo"), so that's a nice addition.

Really enjoyed the start to season 2. I'm glad the show looks like they're going to try and keep it balanced between Noir and Sci-Fi. One of the more interesting shows to watch right now. The classic movie references are always my favorite part.

Is this any good? I remember seeing the trailer for season one and then totally missing it. Worth a watch?

Sci-Fi? What?....I just started the episode 1 last night and I would've never thought sci-fi. I better stop reading and get to watching.
I do like his morality and good heartedness, but that high metabolism bit when he is drinking, I can see where this is going.

It's definitely worth checking out to see if you like the tone of the show. I think Colin Farrell's character is a big fan of noir movies because there are a ton of "flashbacks" to old classics, and he kind of conducts himself like he's in a noir movie.
In one of the earlier episdoes, Amy Ryan's character gets suspicious of him and accuses him of being a spy. It's not a spoiler, I'm just saying that she senses that there are more layers under the surface, even though he really is a sincere, motivated PI trying to solve a case.

He’s the Noir detective without all the stereotypes of the classics. He has empathy, doesn’t like violence, keeps his own emotions mostly in check, and he doesn’t cling to the femme fatale characters. It’s been refreshing to watch while still maintaining plenty of Noir elements.

A very good series that kept me intrigued. Farrell was great. I was not ready for the ending. Nobody saw that coming…

That said, it’s interesting concept and on to S2. Colin Farrell was really good as expected and the chick that shows up in the later seasons of The Good Place was good as well.

IMO they have the best content and its not close. Its crazy how many people I meet that dont have Apple and have never seen a show on it.
