I’m all for obvious and satisfying.
I'd be disappointed if it's not one of the familiar folks we've watched over four seasons that ends up at the helm.
The only one I definitely wouldn't want is Shiv. I think Greg would be absurd as well (even though he cracks me up).
Tom, Kendall, Roman, the old guard (Frank, Jerri, Karl) should be all in play.
I'll be annoyed if it goes "Welp no one gets it" and some rando takes over. That's some True Blood ending type shite.

Tom too, it’s only after gaining insight as to how big of a POS Shiv is that we’ve sympathized with him. He’s a colossal a-hole who married into power
It’s either old guard or none of the above, which I will argue is actually the poetic outcome as their individual lust for power has revealed what shitbags they all are and without Logan’s competence to offset it
The last scene should be the 3 siblings alone in a room and reflecting with nothing to show for it

Kendall did surprisingly well on the fly.. I think it helped him to not overthink and dwell on the upcoming speech had it been scheduled
Ken has stepped up numerous times. The meeting with the Pierce family, the hearing before congress, the presentation earlier this season. It’s funny when people are surprised when he does well.
He also regularly sticks up for the other siblings and family members so him blaming Roman was kinda out of character for him and very Logan like. Seemed intentional from a plot standpoint.

I don’t really think it’s headed towards “who gets it,” because there isn’t really an “it” to get. Throughout the show we’ve seen that CEO/CFO/board members/etc… can all change on a whim with the right support. Logan, Kendall, Roman, and even fricking Gerri have all served as CEO at some point. Frank has been fired and rehired. Almost everyone on the show has been almost fired at some point. Whoever is king of the mountain is only there as long as they can keep support. The most exhausting thing about the show is how they all have to keep their heads on a swivel 24/7.
I think the main conclusion we are coming to is ultimately what direction the company will take in the future. Will it get sold? Will they get dragged down if Menken’s win doesn’t hold? I don’t think we are going to see the end of the story, we are going to get to see the beginning of the future trajectories of the characters, and then get to argue forever about what happened over the next 40 years of their lives.

trying to stab him in the back that Kendall is acting more like Logan now
I don't think it'll end up being any of the kids but they were definitely going for this

Out of all the shitbags im definitely partial to Kendall but thought a small wrinkle in that is he also repeatedly told Roman that yes, Roman fricked it up but it's ok and here's how we are going to fix it. Also acknowledged his own culpability in the mistake
Those things don't feel like Logan moves

Also just have to say this, my estimation of Roman Roy as a man just fricking plummeted.

I'm team "Anyone but Shiv"
But it seems fate states, GoJo closes, US CEO is Tom.
Disgusting Brothers.
ATN GM or whatever they want to call it....Greg.

Which will be Tom.
Mencken wants ATN to stay the same. Tom has tried to cut in that he was the one to make the call and he gave open access for the campaign.
I think this is where that is going. I think it was important to note that Tom was mad that the papers weren't painting him as the guy that made the call.
They can now fire/blame the decision desk guy while changing nothing about ATN
Tom is the only one that has actually been working this entire series

Is Kendall "in bed" with anybody?
Roman is tied up with Mencken, and Shiv with Mattson.
Maybe that comes into play at some point, their entanglements become an albatross for them.
Of course, neither of them killed a guy, so....

Another great episode. Next week will be bittersweet, I'm glad they are wrapping it up but I will miss this show.
Seeing Roman break was tough.
Greg the US CEO? One can wish.
Also, even with her limited screen time, Rava has now jumped up into the upper echelon with Wendy Byrd and Skyler White for worst tv wives.

Who could have told Mattson that Shiv was pregnant?
He has to be back channeling a deal to make himself the US CEO. The sale still has to happen though.

I’m probably missing something, but why would Mencken turn his back on Roman/ATN for Shiv? It just doesn’t add up to me.

I just don't see how everything that needs to happen next week can be crammed into 90 minutes.. I'm keeping my expectations low but hoping for a great ending.

Roman is completely out of the running.. Even the POTUS elect was making fun of his little breakdown. He's definitely not CEO material.
Posted on 5/22/23 at 10:22 am to JDPndahizzy
Did anyone else notice how quick Kendall was to bark at the president about making fun of Roman? Also did the same thing when the gojo guys were making fun of Greg (and Tom). He’s always fast to defend his family from outsiders, even if they are having problems. I feel like that’s going to come into play in the finale.

Yeah it was very noticeable. His character is a good guy that tries anyway..

I get the Rava hate… but imagine being married/divorced to that guy
Posted on 5/22/23 at 10:48 am to GreatLakesTiger24
I don’t think it’s a true pivot towards Shiv/Mattson, but my take is when Roman crumbled during the eulogy it made him look weak, hence Ken saying “you fricked it” at the after party. I think Mencken just likes the idea of a US CEO that isn’t one of the Roy brothers maybe?
