Meh. I'm not big on fan fiction.

Has nothing to do with fan fiction. In canon Anakin is made to be the one. The whole reason for his encounter with the father son and daughter was to demonstrate he could bring balance to the force. He also was the only one that truly saw the arrogance of the Jedi.

Luke was the offspring of Anakin and Padme, Anakin was the offspring of the force.

He’s saying everything outside the movies, including the TV shows, is fan fiction. Which is dumb

re: Strongest character in Star Wars
Prequels:

1- Anakin Skywalker.
2- Yoda
3- Darth Sidious
4- Mace Windu
5- Obi Wan Kenobi

Originals.

1- Darth Sidious
2- Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker
3- Yoda
4- Obi Wan Kenobi
5- Luke Skywalker

Sequels, unfortunately:

Tied 1- Ben Solo/Rey
3- Luke Skywalker
4- Palpatine
5- Snoke

Expanded:

If I am going outside of the films, Ahsoka Tano ranks above Luke Skywalker at the time of the Originals. Luke’s potential is far from reached in these movies, and unfortunately he isn’t given what he fully deserved in the next trilogy. Hell Ill put Ahsoka above Snoke just because he doesn’t impress me at all, he’s just a weird puppet of Palps? Demotion.

re: Strongest character in Star Wars
Anakin destroying the Jedi was necessary to bring balance to the Force. The Jedi basically became the Special Forces of the Republic. Remind you this was a Republic that had decades of incompetence and corruption, had been influenced by the Sith, before ultimately being lead by a Sith.

Luke was the only Jedi outside of Yoda that Anakin had met who was guided purely by the Force. Luke could have fought Palpatine and he may have even killed him. But then what? You let your rage consume you and that will eat at you and destroy you. Luke gave himself up and it brought the last bit of Anakin out of Vader to destroy Palpatine. At that point in the story, it left Luke as the only trained Force User in the Galaxy and he had surrendered himself to the Will of the Force, which is what Anakin’s prophecy was. He was to bring Balance to the Force. How do you bring Balance to it? Get rid of those who would use it for their own personal gain or the personal gain of others.

It’s also why Ahsoka being thrown out of the Jedi Order helped her character tremendously. You can argue that Anakin was the best master we saw because he has inarguably the best Padawan in the series. Oddly enough the two people who did whatever they wanted to with the Force had the two best Padawans in the series.

Agreed as Anakin, even though the films do not bring justice to it, saw that the Jedi or what they had become was no different then the evil they fought to destroy. His emotions though got the better of him and in the end could not find balance within.

I doubt that he would have prevailed.

Luke in a way became the true hero for this reason. Sort of like Sam in LOTR as the only one that had possession of the one ring and yet had no problems giving it up.

Timeline from the OT but that is no longer the case as we know several Jedi escaped Order 66 and even in Rebels we see them.

She was invited back but she saw what Anakin did and that the Jedi were not the answer.

In all of the SW universe who is the “strongest” or most powerful with the force? Is it Palpatine? Or were some of the older sixth lords such as Darth Bane more powerful with the force?

As Obi Wan once said, what certain "point of view" do you mean? Are you talking about using the Force as a blunt and raw display of pure power or the Force as a companion making you a complete person?

Leia may be the most powerful and hear me out. Setting aside the ridiculous "Mary Poppins" bullshite, as a whole person she didn't allow the force to control her nor did she count on it to solve her problems. She made the force work for her. Even Yoda didn't see Palpatine and Mace rightfully stated the Jedi's ability to control the force is diminished. Yoda mentioned the Jedi were becoming too confident with themselves. The Sith were all victims of overconfidence and their hubris was always their downfall.

Leia was pragmatic. She trusted her own judgement rather than going of some Force Vision Quest to find answers. Once she knew she had the force she had the ability to only use it when you need it.

As would Ezra Bridger. He called the purgills to him to help defeat Thrawn and save his home world. He was able to enter the world between worlds. Ezra's voice was not in the sequence in the last film where all the past Jedi speak to Rey, so he is potentially still out there somewhere.

Very true. Ezra has much more experience than Luke at this point in the timeline.

The Jedi Order needed a wakeup call, but they don’t really factor into the “balance” situation. This has been covered before. At their core they are neutral to the balance while the Sith cause the imbalance.

Their issue was that they were complacent. They lost their way. No longer striving to maintain the Will of the Force as much as they tried to please the Republic Senate. They had somehow allowed the dark side to grow under their nose for years and years. Became way too involved in politics. When the time came, Windu claimed they were peace keepers and not soldiers... yet they became warriors and many embraced it. The War helped make the Jedi even worse off and less prepared for Palpatine’s eventual betrayal. The state of the Galaxy was actually pushing the Jedi from balance and leaning more in darkness.

Agreed. Even in the EU with some that survived the purge they went to the dark side.

Snoke was pretty powerful when he wanted to be. He tossed around Rey with the flick of a finger. He could’ve easily dispatched her and Kylo if he hadn’t been so busy talking and bullshiteting.

re: Strongest character in Star Wars
Luke is the most powerful character IMO just based on what he was able to master. He may as well have been Jesus.

I guess you could argue that Rey was or at least had the most potential.

re: Strongest character in Star Wars
I have seen the PT and OT films a million times. I saw TFA a couple of times in theaters. I have seen RO. TLJ and TROS I have only seen once - and will only see once. I have not read a single EU/Legends (whatever) book.

Based on the films...

In a wide open duel to the death I believe I would take Sidious over the rest. His use of Force Lightning is a weapon the Jedi do not have. And while it can be countered to some degree, it’s still deadly.

As to the Windu-Sidious duel, assuming Sidious legit lost, it was a very cramped area that negated Sidious’ abilities to some extent. If they had fought in the Senate chamber like the Yoda duel (where Sidious had more room to use his Force powers) I would go with Sidious. His Force Lightning and telepathic powers are his strengths. The more room he has to maneuver, throw shite around, and shoot Force Lightning from afar the harder it will be to beat him.
