That’s been my biggest issue with the season thus far. It’s wildly inconsistent. 5 was an absolute snoozer. 6 was really good. 7, I don’t hate where it ended, but getting there outside of the Max stuff was really meh.

And while I appreciate including her for continuity sake, I absolutely hate 11’s sister. I just want someone to punch her in the face with her bullshite.

Same. I feel like it’s pretty obvious that 8 wants to wait till they kill or stop Vecna and then take Vecna’s spot and destroy earth to get back at the military for killing her friends/family.

I don’t want to be right because I don’t want it to be so predictable.

That’s a solid thought too.

I can also see the emo twat wanting to kill herself and El because she can’t conceive of a happy ending and doesn’t want anyone to be happy.

If El dies due to her sisters dumb bullshite it’ll reach a GOT level bad ending. Like Bran being King

Agreed.

Dying to save everyone else? Sure. Dying to save Mike or Hopper? Again, totally works.

Dying in death pact with her sister will be Jaime Lannister level death right there.

Side note, the Tide commercial with Karen Wheeler is so much funnier now knowing the context. Well played marketing.

Yeah, that and people that have never watched it before that used to have friends recommend it. Much like Game of Thrones, up until the last season it was a show I recommended to everyone. Now I tell people not to bother.

The peak of GOT was special. I remember going to a GOT watch party at a bar in Denver. The whole damn bar cheered like it was a football game. The ending of that show was catastrophic for HBO

This. The whole last season was some of the worst television of all time.

The finale received a 4.0 overall rating.
The average rating for each episode in the final season of GOT was 6.4 That’s rock bottom bad television.

The lady picked up the oxygen tank and just happen to end up in the laundry room. Laughably bad.

I mean, they announced over the loudspeaker they were going to the basement. She didn’t just happen to end up there

Characters looking at each other and having long, cringy, heartfelt discussions with each other just made these episodes drag on. Its such a departure from where this show started years ago.

There are just things in this show that are totally weird. Apparently, Mike and Nancy dont care at all about their mother in the hospital...and the mother apparently now heals like Wolverine. The dad is once again a punchline instead of a real character. Its just bizarre choices they made with the writing that have made this season terrible. I just wanna see how it ends and I will probably never want to rewatch another second of ST

Yep, mom could barely walk but effortlessly carried a co2 canister to the basement… how? And why?

Super convenient the kids were hiding in the totally empty laundry facility, mom put the canister in the dryer without making a sound and knew the Demi dogs would all go investigate, standing in a tight group & her plan worked perfectly.

How did they expect the Demodogs not to find them?? they were playing music and sitting on the floor(apparently so we could steal a Jurassic Park scene)

The overall lazy writing for this last season is embarrassing.

We Just finished episode 6. Thank God I didn’t listen to this board. I would have expected this to be game of thrones/dexter/HIMYM bad. I feel like binge watching tends to ruin any show. That’s one of yall problems. You’re going to get sick of it and have it feel repetitive if you just non stop plow through it.

Season 5

Episode 1 - 8.5 a little slow out the gate but that’s what first episodes do to get you ready for the rest of the season.

Episode 2 - 9.0 - fantastic opening scene. Great episode. Holly shines. Screams 80’s rainbow brite. Little red riding hood

Episode 3- 9.3 probably the most fun episode of the season. Frank Darabont really put his stamp on this episode. This is why we watch television.

Episode 4 - 9.8 - top 4 episode of the series. Holy shite. The ending was fricking amazing. Pure cinema

Episode 5 - 9.0 - learning more about Henry and the other worlds. The ending with Will getting under vecnas power was one of the best moments of the season. If you can hear this MAX Run. RUNNN. Great name for the episode. Shock Jock

Episode 6 - 9.3 Murray and the our favorite science teacher had a great early scene. Luckily Erika couldn’t ruin it. We learned more about the upside down.Glad Jonathon and Nancy broke up. They made Robin so unattractive in S04 and S05. Very emotional ending. Shawn levy directed another fantastic episode. Holly and Max are so fricking good.

I think they foreshadowed pretty hard that hopper wont let that happen..

I think he’ll sacrifice himself to save el and the rest of the kids… its an arc that makes sense, since he has trauma from not saving his real daughter and he’s, in essence, the protector of hawkins being the former sheriff and all.

The duffer bros like killing off strong white male archetypes anyway like billy and eddy. Even the guy who first found eleven in season 1.

Just a theory

So you just called one of the greatest movies ever a overall lazy writing scene. "The Jurassic Park scene"

That stranger things scene was a great homage to that JP scene. How could anyone who grew up in the 90's not appreciate that scene.

A lot of people are complaining about Episode 7, but a gay guy making the end of the world about his sexuality may be the realest thing I've seen from a show.
