I mean Mike telling the story that Will would move to a major city and find folks of like mind is about as good as it can get for a gay guy in the late 80s.

Those are just people who annoyingly ship people in their hand canon and grasp on to it without paying attention to anything else.

I liked it but I do have obvious issues with it.

I feel like Nancy & Jonathan should have died in the pudding room. They didn’t end up better off and looked bad in the end. That would have made the ending more bitter sweet.

They did the other characters justice for the most part. I liked Joyce and Hops ending.

The whole thing felt like it was just sweet and satisfying endings.

Plus, I like the killing off of 11 but they should have not telegraphed it all season. It would have been a good plot twist to do it at the gate instead.

Don’t mind the ending with her living, but that would have hit harder if had been sudden.

Also, don’t get me started with how they killed the mind flayer. That was utter stupidity that they could just shoot it with 1 rifle and and a flame thrower and affect it.

They should have seen that coming after Episode 7.

Pure cinema. This is why we watch television. This finishes in my top 10 after this ending. There was no dry eyes in the movie theatre.

Probably my only complaint about the finale. Thought the final boss fight could’ve been a little more epic. Other than that I thought it was great and they stuck the landing while still leaving a little bit of mystery.

Joyce ending him was great . Homegirl definitely deserved the chance to deliver the final blow

Yeah the fight with Vecna barely seemed like an inconvenience. The wrap up took so long that I felt like the fight was a very minor part of the episode.

Overall it was decent and about as good as can be expected from how bad this season was.

It ended like a cheesy 80s movie which works for this show.

I thought they stuck the hell out of the landing. What a great finale. I think the whole story could have unfolded better, but the alien and the wormhole was a pretty good way to bundle it all up and put a bow on it.

I hope no one caught the gay while watching. A lot of yall seemed really worried about that.

Agree vecna final battle was too easy.

My other complaint. They kill dozens of US troops get caught coming back out. Evil doc lady doesn’t get eleven. Would imagine they would all get punished but we never get an explanation why none of them are imprisoned or executed? Like the military just said ah damn guess we take the L on this one?

Plot holes galore but that was expected as it was a consistent theme of the show but overall a satisfying ending. My favorite was their ability to scale those massive cliffs in about 45 seconds while loaded down with weaponry.

Who knew that interdimensional giant monsters were easier to take down than a pack of demodogs.

I like to think the military had a “If you don’t tell anyone we won’t tell anyone” moment when Dr. K didn’t get El, they lost their whole arse operation in the Upside Down, and they needed folks to not say anything.

Was an off the books operation by Kay. Once she failed, she was retired and everyone else was stationed in Antarctica.

Told my daughters to temper your expectations on how it would end… must say as a ‘80s DnD nerd I’m extremely critical of this show, but it met and exceeded my expectations on a finale. Bravo Duffer brothers, well done.

Epilogue was great. The rest? Meh.

I will admit that the gang putting their DnD binders up one by one and Mike looking back at Holly and her friends was depressing as frick

Wasn’t a totally happy finale and I’m glad for that. But they’re definitely all going to come back for a Stranger Things 6 in a decade or so. Someone will try to replicate Brenner’s research and El will find out and want to come out of hiding.

Stuck the landing imo.

9.1/10 overall score of the series.

Did lots of characters justice. Glad it ended with Mike at the core. He’s the original leader.
