Since Halloween is over and many horror movies have stopped playing on TV, what have you seen from the Stephen King movies and what is your favorite?
They are very strange movies but for some reasoning keep your attention.

I'd have to pick IT (1990). Tim Curry played that role perfectly.

Also, saw Graveyard Shift (1990) for the first time this year.

And who can forget Kathy Bates in Misery. frick! That woman scared the shite out of me as a kid.

Not a favorite, but a film I enjoyed when I was younger that I don't see talked about a lot is Dreamcatcher. Not sure how well it holds up may have to do a rewatch.

The Shining is the best and the least faithful to the book. That is a not a coincidence.

As far as horror goes, it's either Pet Sematary or Misery.

For horror I'd probably go with the 1990s IT. That movie scared the hell out of me for years. When Pennywise came up through the shower drain... I kept an eye on the drain for a long time afterward.

Overall, The Shawshank Redemption.

Stand By Me is great too.

Is Shawshank too obvious or we just sticking with true horror?

I'm a little partial to Firestarter or Christine for nostalgia sake.

Never been a big fan of the movies but Ive read Salems Lot at least 5 times from the time I was a kid and the last time about 5 years ago. That book scares the shite out of me even now.

But if I have to choose, I would say The Shining and PS were the best movies.
