Lol I have never read a Star Wars book in my life. I'm in my mid 20's, ESB is by far my favorite SW movie and I liked TFA. Luke, Snoke and even Rey were badly mishandled imo and JJ Abrams should've just directed this entire trilogy if this is the route Johnson wanted to take

So people have complained for years now that TFA was a “remake” and did nothing new. We get something original (which is getting rave reviews) and people still complain now? Before even seeing the movie?

How have you seen TLJ already?

My point exactly. You and I will receive ton of downvotes but you're spot on.

I saw it last night here in Germany.

You have to read the spoilers to understand, they sound like a troll they read so bad. Could translate better on film, but the synopsis is just plain bad.
The action scenes sound great though, so it is probably a fun movie. Just some of the direction of the characters is WTF.

I posted this a few days ago:
I haven't read the spoilers; I'm seeing it tomorrow morning. I am excited reading all the reviews about how it's very different. I love out-of-the-box, creative thinking. It's a big reason why I was so excited when Johnson was named director of this installment. It's the Eighth film in the saga; there is nothing wrong with reinventing itself at this point.

It's going to be hated by the same group that was going to hate it anyway. Everything points to it being a departure from the known themes and plot lines. This group is going to complain that its too different after spending two years complaining that Force Awakens was too similar.

Just because critics like it doesn't mean it is a good Star Wars film.

You're right. It just means most of the general public will more than likely find it appealing
Chris Stuckmann, a notorious Star Wars fan boy and huge nerd, saw it and loved the new direction they took everything. I feel like you need to watch it on the big screen, preferably without knowing the full plot ahead of time

and you haven't seen it, just read some stuff and talked to some friends overseas. How about you see the movie before you say it is a turd
and the RT score is relevant because in case you didn't notice, this thread is about the RT score.

Kristian Harloff has seen it twice and said he didn't really care for it the first time he saw it but after second viewing he loves it.

I don't know where I said it was not relevant?
As I stated earlier, to each their own. If you like the film, great. Once you see the film hop on over to the spoiler thread and we can discuss the parts with which I fundamentally disagree.

SEMI-SPOILERISH, NOT REALLY A SPOILER WARNING:
One of the critics - who is an enormous Star Wars guy - loved it and said that if you like the Mortis Trilogy from The Clone Wars series then you will love The Last Jedi.
The Mortis Trilogy was probably the coolest and most symbolic episodes in all of the Clone Wars.
I was excited to read that.
