My issue is that you are posting so much this isn't even a thread any more. It is a SlowFlowPro blog. Your points are valid but you are being obnoxious as shite. Every page is just you but dragging nuts every other post. It's ridiculous.
i'm about to go watch a movie so i won't be posting much for a bit, but i have to say this: nothing i do prevents anyone from having their own posts or discussions. there are multiple discussions with others going on around the discussions that i am having.

but that has to all be established again
No it doesn't. It's been established on screen TWICE. You do realize that Episode 8 will take place a year after the final scene right? You do realize that conversations are had off-screen right? We were only privy to bits and pieces of Luke's training by Yoda. Yoda's monologue was necessary. To an extent, Qui Gon's monologue was necessary. There is no need for an on-screen explanation from Luke to Rey about the history and nature(s) of the Force. Now him showing her how to use it and what she can do using it, is great, but we as an audience don't need anymore exposition on the history and nature of it.
Stop arguing dumb points.

Sorry, SFP. You are one of my favorite posters here and have been for years but you've been ridiculous on this thread.

i'm trying to think of a comparable scene to the "gangster" scene on the MF in TFA
Trash compactor scene in ANH. That was a scene that takes you out of the larger narrative for a moment for a quick bit of adventure. Granted, the scene in TFA does serve two narrative purposes: It shows you what Han has been doing since we last saw him and it forces him to return to Leia and the Resistance.
Your ship is overrun with gangsters and rathtars, you have a map to Luke Skywalker - an old friend and your brother-in-law, and you have your old ship back. Exactly how was the freighter scene a waste of time again?

Luke was always very attached to R2. He's part of the story.

Just don't start a thread where you drop poop napalm all over Justified. That will be my tipping point. BTW, that link I sent you is clean. No ads or pop ups. Not run by Ukrainians. Oscar screeners are out.

season 6 is not free on prime yet so se2ep4 of the wire it is
and justified should have been done in 3-4 seasons. that's my only complaint. they kind of wasted how utterly amazing season 2 was
justified season 2 is one of my favorite tv seasons of all time

He does that a lot. There is a reason why he has over 300,000 posts.

Luke's reaction to Rey and the lightsaber was a bit "disturbing" to me. He looked like it made him sick just looking at it. Hell of a place to leave a cliffhanger

It sucked. No development of characters. No feel or hint of a Lucas film at all. Can't believe this is what they released after all this time. Easily the worst movie of the series. I'm not even remotely excited about the next one.

He hasn't made a great movie in almost 40 years.
He really has only ever made two great films. Star Wars and American Grafitti.

This film was so much better than anything that has been done with Star Wars since 1983. I cannot for the life of me see how anyone can possibly think this wasn't a fun Star Wars movie.

Does he really need another one? It's why we even get to argue about TFA
