Hell, maybe Ren kills him and everyone else except Rey in Episode VIII (which I would personally find awesome.)
I hope he gets frustrated by Rey not returning his affections and turns spy for the first order an Poe kills him. Or the Brienne storm trooper chick, who is his contact in the Order, has a change of heart and wants to come to the resistance so she gives him over to Admiral akbar to prove her new found loyalty to the good guys. Finn then escapes and is on his way back to the Order to give away the location of Luke and Rey and Brienne trooper chick and Poe chase him across the galaxy in the falcon and kill him before he can reveal the secret location to Ren.

Faults aside this movie still left me wanting more. How did Kylo's path to the dark side start? Why did Luke leave a part of a map to himself (and his daughter Maeby) with Max Von Sydow on Jakku? Who/what the frick is Snoke?

i did think that the first "force off" b/w reyson bourne and kylo ren left some romantic possibilities
I thought this as well. They had much more chemistry than Rey and Finn.

I guess you loved JJ's Star Trek II because it was very original compared to the series and past movies.

Looked through most of this thread and didn't see discussion about the X-wing pilot doll shown at the beginning when she's making food. Not to mention the helmet. Where do you suppose these items came from?

The novel delves into this a bit, stating that Snoke starting watching and manipulating Ben at a very young age.
Leia didn't mention anything to Han, thinking she could turn Ben away on her own without getting Han involved.

The Helmet could be from a crashed X wing wreckage from the Retun of The Jedi battle.

The doll I'd say is either something from before she was abandoned or something she created herself. As for the helmet, probably something she found in the wreckage from the Battle of Jakku - I'd love to see a movie that takes place during this time.

Just saw it. I couldn't not see the dopey boyfriend from Girls whenever I saw Ren

I thought the movie was fantastic, but it moved too fast in places and didn't really do a good enough job establishing the world the events of the film took place in (something I was afraid would happen when Disney took over). I cannot name any of the planets the scenes took place on aside from Jakku which was mentioned about 47 times.

I agree completely

Damn. Maybe Poe is her daddy. I think Poe has to have some force ability due to the way he flys.

I'm only on page 20, but I wanted to point out that Luke received zero training between Empire and the beginning of ROTJ. So the "jedi master" move of getting a weak-minded individual to do your bidding doesn't seem to imply any need for additional training. Plus, Yoda himself said Luke didn't need any more training after all
Put all that together with the fact that the Force likely got stronger, and Rey seems much more willing to believe in the force (as mentioned earlier) and its totally believable that she could do it.

Well to be fair, the movie only takes place on four planets: Jakku, Starkiller base, Takadona (Maz's planet which will probably never be revisited in this trilogy) and the unnamed Resistance base.

I just saw it and not having the patience to weave thru the thread right now to see if my questions and thoughts get answered, I'll just post them.
I didn't really like the mind control aspect of the force and was more hoping that she'd slowly throughout the movie become more powerful. Instead of using the force for mind control, she'd open the restraints then take the troopers gun. It felt like Rey got too much power in the end. I was hoping in her battle with Kylo that it would be reversed roles; she'd close her eyes and then accept the force and fight better and he'd knock her down then the ground would split. He'd be frustrated that she had beat him up bad and she'd go train with the mission complete. Not all of the sudden her become more powerful.
Also, at the end I thought having Fin stay alive after having his back split was dumb. Find another way to end that part of the battle and keep him alive.
Lastly, where did r2d2 get the other part of the map?
Aside from those things I loved the movie, from the trash compacted quote (even if it didn't show them go down it) to the humor of "so who talks first?" Lots of humor mixed in.

I haven't seen the OT that many times, but he leaves Dagobah before finishing training to save the crew at Bespin. He only goes back to Dagobah after rescuing them from Jabba's palace. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but how does he get training in the in-between?

What exactly do you believe he is doing during the year-18 months between Bespin and Jabba's Palace?
