I've read through most of the thread and did not see this mentioned but did anyone notice when Kylo was reading Rey's mind he saw an ocean and an island. End's up that is where Luke is at. Am I right on this?? She had not seen the whole map nor known that information at that time. Obviously she has raw power.

Only on page 9 of this thread. I loved the movie.

The only things that semi-bothered me was how fast Rey learned the mind trick (where had she even heard of it before?), and why did Rey hug Leia at the end of the movie? (they hadn't met yet right?)

I didn't notice it the first time I watched it, but this time it actually jumped out at me when Kylo mentioned the island and ocean (I guess because I had already watched the final scene this time). She was definitely have visions of the future through the force.

No they had not met yet, but I'm assuming it is thier connection to the force and knowing Han died.

It was kind of goofy, but I guess since Maz hinted so heavily that Luke was her father, she figured that Leia was her aunt. Plus they are both force sensitive, so I guess that could explain it. Plus I'm sure Chewy told her about Leia before they arrived at the base.

I appreciated certain aspects (less cgi/slightly better dialogue vs. prequels) of the movie but I was disappointed overall. First, I thought the story was terribly unoriginal. Like many others have said, I felt like I was watching a remake of ANH. I mean, how many death stars can we go through. Also, Kylo Ren is a bad arse that can stop a laser by using the force in one of the initial scenes, however, somehow Finn (who is not force sensitive) can hold his own against him in a lightsaber duel? Ridiculous.

Finally, the death of Han Solo was terrible. Terrible ending for an overall fantastic character from the OT. He didn't need to be killed off and there was no real acknowledgement of his death on screen. Overall, I give the movie about a 5/10.

She can't understand anything Chewy says.

I'm still pumped after seeing it. Very solid and great start to the rest of the franchise..

Am I correct in assuming that Vader will play a big role in Rouge One? I mean for merchandising alone he has to be in Rouge One right?

I saw it in 2D and want to bring my kids to BR Imax 3D this week. I have never been to IMAX so do you think it would enhance my 2nd viewing?

I liked it! I was able to follow the whole movie, it kept my interest to the end and I was surprised it ended so quickly.

With at least 5 movies remaining, they have ample opportunities to drive the series into the ground, though.

First of all, that was arguably the 1st or 2nd best scene in the movie.

Certainly the most powerful scene by far.

My takeaway from the movie was the Finn is a force sensitive. Additionally, Kylo was shot with a blaster 10 minutes prior to that sword fight...

Finn got his arse kicked both times when using the lightsaber.

Against the stormtrooper, Han saved him. Against Kylo, he landed 1 blow on his right shoulder, and got dominated the rest of the fight.

Did you people even watch the movie?

She definitely could. That was established in their first meeting.

I think she is Han and Lelia's daughter/Kylo's twin sister.

They mentioned the lightsaber being Vader's, then Luke then calling to her, another Skywalker, Leia was also a Skywalker.

They mentioned Han being like a father figure to her.

She is the opposite of Kylo. Female with the light side of the force.

We have already seen twins of the opposite sex in the Skywalker bloodline.

Everyone is saying she is Luke's daughter but Luke is a Jedi so he probably would have no offspring.

I think her being Luke's daughter would be too obvious.

Them being twins is just rehashing the exact same story. I think she's Luke's daughter.

It was obvious Finn was not Force sensitive, while Kylo was not only a Skywalker, but had received formal training from both Luke and Snoke. He had years of experience.

Jedi/Sith/Force users have guided reflexes that are unrivaled by any non-Force user. The fight between Kylo and Finn should have been over within just a few seconds.

Yeah but why wouldn't we have heard them talk about losing their daughter or giving her up?

Weak theory is weak

No doubt. But also people are acting like Finn is just some chump off the street. The guy was raised for the sole purpose of being a badass solder. While he probably wasn't trained on how to use a lightsaber, I'm sure he was trained is the use of all kinds of weapons (like the one the stormtrooper had), as well as hand to hand combat. I don't think some realize how injured Kylo actually was either. A bowcaster is far more powerful than a blaster. I bet Kylo was using the force just to keep himself moving.
