Could have been glorious. One last ride for Han and the Falcon kamakaziing straight into the death planet

Yeah something told me I'd get some condescension over that comment. But, it only makes sense to me that people who are trained to use the Force, which essentially gives you superpowers, to include effortless physical feats and precognition, would not duel each other by wildly swinging their weapons and beating the sabers together.

But it's really just a cartoon at this point. It is no more believable than the Coyote surviving being blown up with dynamite. There's absolutely no realism, grit, or passion to any of those duels. They just hired choreographers instead of writers to make these scenes feel real.

Think about this sentence in your post for a minute. And you might realize why your post is no good.

No, it's still solid. The duels in the prequels look and feel fake. There is nothing of substance to them whatsoever. Was there any grit or realism at all to these fights, because they look like something out of a Tom and Jerry cartoon.

Which leads to the theory that Luke has a wife that was murdered by Kylo when he turns to the dark and splits from Luke.

Would have been lifted from the EU. Jacen Solo (aka Kylo in the movie) kills Mara Jade (Luke's wife) in the book series this movie seems to heavily draw upon even though the EU is no longer "cannon".

I think it makes sense that the prequel jedis were badass lightsaber duelsmen. They were trained from a young age to use the force by experienced Jedi that had the benifit of thousands of years of Jedi tradition. Luke got a two week crash course from Yoda in the swamp and that girl had no training at all in the latest movie.

I'm pissed about Solo. No way Han fricking Solo would go out like that. Killed by that annoying little bitch Ben. He should have gone out in a blaze of glory diving the falcon into the heart of the super death star thing.

I thought I'd feel the same way...in the OT that's how he would've went out, but this is 30 years later. Having kids changes you just like time does. I thought it was perfect.

I think the few similarities were pure coincidence.

No matter who he was he was also a dad. He died trying to save his son.

Seeing as both of them did the same thing in their lives, retreating to fight another day and wait for an apprentice is a major part of being a failed Jedi Master.

Yet if one died there was still another that could pass on the legacy. Luke was alone.

Exactly. Which is why I didn't understand Kylo Ren's apparent lack of sword skill.

Was she supposed to be trained or something? I didn't read any books except for the Han Solo books because Jedi are lame and space smugglers are cool.

Oh, Kylo...I didn't pay attention to his name. I thought it was Ben.

Yeah but he was taught by Luke, who was always kind of a pussy in my book and he only got a 2 week course from Yoda.

Meh. Would think that would feed his rage and make him stronger.

Speaking of his injury. Wonder how that made Chewie feel. He loved Han and that pissed him off. But, he was likely like an uncle or second father to Ben and loved him.

I don't. Abrams is a huge fan boy and admitted to using them as inspiration.

I think we can look at this Star Wars reboot like the Star Trek reboot (in relation to the EU). The EU is gone, technically, but still there with details slightly mixed up.

Han's and Leia's son whom Luke trains goes dark - check
Vader has a grandson named Ben - check
Vader has a grand daughter strong in the force - check
Two of Vader's grandkids become rivals - check
The existence of the star killer base - check
Luke training after ROTJ only to have student(s) go dark - check

On and on.

The prequel Saber fights were over choreographed garbage. I am glad they didn't make that dogshit, no drama, awful, abortion of fighting cannon. I'd expect someone like Yoda to have some mad skills, but one who's never touched a Saber before in her life, and another obviously still learning the mental side of being an evil demigod to be flipping all over the place doesn't make sense to me.

Hell anytime anything didn't go 100 percent his way, he just thrashed a wall, that's not a recipe for a agile Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon fighter anyways.
